No bargains from the Jags if you want Mariota.
He wants Fowler Jr or Williams

And Matt Cassel. :teehee:

Agreed.
If Mike Wallace gets cut, I can envision both the Raiders and Vikings making a serious attempt to sign him.

It's not saying much but Christian Ponder would be an upgrade over the 2014 version of Matt Schaub. At a MUCH lower price.
Quote:Nick Fairley to the rams
For a long time I thought there was a good chance that Nick Fairley would end up signing a short term prove it type of contract. What surprised me is the St, Louis Rams showing interest in Fairley this week, before eventually signing him. In essence, Fairley would be their # 3 DT. Paying a $ 5 million base salary ( not counting the $ 2.5 million in potential incentives ) on a one year contract is quite a price when you have multiple needs on the Offensive Line. If the Rams don't substantially upgrade their O-Line, Nick Foles is going to end up like Sam Bradford.
Once the Lions traded for Haloti Ngata the other day, the chances of Fairley being re-signed were reduced substantially. The end of Fairley's time with the Lions in essence ended last night when the Lions signed former Saints DT Tyrunn Walker. If Fairley can continue to keep off the weight that plagued him much of his time with the Lions and finally remain relatively healthy, I still think he can have a good career. Yet, I understand why the Lions were reluctant to re-sign Fairley under contract terms that would stretch the team's present or future cap situation.

I'm thinking they may start looking to re-sign Barksdale again. His market has been ice cold since the start of FA. His asking price has to be dropping by the day.

It would make sense, especially with Phase 1 of the FA period in essence being over. The question then comes why has the market been ice cold for him in the early part of Free Agency?
I read that the Rams would like to bring in former Falcons LG Justin Blalock for a FA visit. Blalock visited with the Lions yesterday. Tennessee reportedly has interest in Blalock as well.
Quote:Dolphins looking to pair Clay and Cameron
Charles Clay | MIA
(March 13, 2015 2:44 PM EDT)
NFL Network's Albert Breer says the Dolphins would like to use Jordan Cameron and Charles Clay the same way the Patriots used Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.
Comparing Cameron and Clay to the unstoppable Hernandez/Gronk tandem is a stretch, but there's nothing wrong with giving Ryan Tannehill as many weapons as possible. Many teams use two-tight end sets, including the Eagles, who paired Zach Ertz and Brent Celek together last season. Similar to the way Philadelphia played keep away from Dallas with DeMarco Murray, the Dolphins may be trying to keep Clay so he won't sign with division rival Buffalo.

Interesting that Miami wants to keep both TEs. I wonder if Caldwell envisions multiple TE sets with us as well considering his reluctance to trade Lewis.
I think with both Lewis and Thomas, we'll have an opportunity to be creative in ways we haven't seen out of this team yet.
McFadden to Cowboys?
Wallace on the block from Miami? Maybe with Stills on board?

I thought Clay went elsewhere?

The Bills are expected to sign him to an offer sheet but he's still currently a Dolphin. They are working on signing him to a new contract as we speak so the Bills won't be able to sign him to an offer sheet.

Buffalo supposedly putting together an offer sheet for him…can see Cleveland doing it as well.

Clay, Cameron, Stills and Landry plus a draft pick forms a nice set of weapons for Tannehill. Plus Lamar Miller broke out last season.

Whelp, i stand corrected. Vikings.
I'm pretty suprised. Miami is having a nice little free agency in my opinion.
