Quote:Same goes to getting arguably the best free agent right tackle if we sign Bryan Bulaga. That trifecta would make me very excited about next season.

Yes. Abso-friggin-lutely! Wink
Quote:I also hope they are looking at Pernell McPhee. Each time I watched the Ravens play last season, dude was leaving a good impression on me.

McPhee over Odrick at least..

Agreed,   regarding the preference of the two players.

Jared Odrick reminds me of a player who can be a jack of all trades but does he really stand out in any way?

A couple of hours ago,  I was giving thought to what position Pernell McPhee would be best suited for in different types of Defensive Schemes.   My impression is McPhee would be better as a DE in either a 4-3 or 3-4 base on early downs and as an interior pass rusher/ 3 technique type of player on expected passing downs.   I don't know if McPhee can hold up physically over the course of a long season as a starting 4-3 DT.

No kidding. The Texans will be a mess until they get a franchise quarterback, just like the Browns.

Sounds like Davis who we just re-signed

We are pretty deep at Dline so Im thinking he would be rotating with a bunch of players. I love his passion and attitude. He looked like a leader out there. I'd actually be kind of surprised if we didn't give him an offer.
I'll take Murray for as long as he's productive.. People can whine and moan about him all they want. Murray is an upgrade.. I'll take him..

If I'm not mistaken,  I believe the Jets also have interest in signing Brian Hoyer.   That would set up an epic QB duel as well.

The Jets are mocked to pick Marcus Mariota if he drops to #6. Would a Brian Hoyer signing mean they don't want to draft a quarterback?

I'd think the Texans would be favoured as there's familiarity with the head coach

A huge upgrade and most importantly would make Blake a better player, as well. If RBs are so 'easy' to find and replace, then il gladly take Murray for the next 2-3 seasons. He was running like AP last season, people!

One thing for sure,  a team can never have enough quality Defensive Lineman.

It's impressive how many Defensive Lineman and LB's have done very well in Baltimore over the last 15 + seasons.   The Ravens do an excellent job replacing players that leave as FA's.

Yet not that well when they leave

Not necessarily.    Brian Hoyer could be a bridge to their QB of the future.

As for pick # 6,  like we discussed recently on the MB,   Chip Kelly probably will make the Jets quite an offer if the Oregon QB drops to that spot.

That's the case with many.   One recent exception is Cory Redding,  who didn't have a drop-off in play with Indianapolis,  despite just completing his 12th NFL season.

Think it's more the case with the lbs as opposed to the defensive linemen

My take is Ryan Davis is faster/ quicker,  while Pernell McPhee can hold up better at the point of attack.   I like both players.  Davis impressed the heck out of me in that Thursday Night game against the Texans in 2013.

The Dolphins found that out the hard way.

Maybe.   But the path to starting,  at least in the short term could well be better with the Jets.

The game he showed me big time ability was the Dolphins game where he played for branch. The guy is a technician against those linemen
