Quote:The Vikings killed two football birds with one stone with that one.

That trade had to have been a confidence boost to their front office. I imagine it being the equivalent to finding $20 on the ground.
Quote:Maclin is still a primary target for the Jags.

Word has it he's going back to Philly. There was someone in philly that said to expect Sanchez and Maclin to be inked later tonight. Sanchez already has.
#jaguars Tebow may attend veteran combine in hopes of getting another shot at playing in the NFL http://t.co/S5yEuoDYn3

Oh snap!!
Quote:I honestly think we may bring back Cecil now that there's no real FA receiver out there, not who's an upgrade over him anyway. Barring Maclin not re-signing, am I missing someone? I wouldn't mind as long as he's 4th/5th on the depth chart.
I want no part of Cecil. He had his shot. Crabtree.

Even if he's released

"Count me among those banking on Julius Thomas to sign with Jacksonville shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Hearing this could approach $10 million a year as well."

Meh, I just don't like Crabtree. No real reason I suppose, just don't like him
Honestly I want us to land McCourty no matter what. Eagles might be less of a option since they signed Maxwell to the worst contract ever. Since there is no buzz around McCourty, I think his plan all along was to stay in New England. First he went out and said he wanted to be tagged, why, he can stay at home with a steep salary for 1 year as well as maybe signing a long term deal. Now in the free agency he is still quiet, at least I hzvent  heard anything. But a RT and McCourty with Thomas and Murray is sick with the possibility of us targeting a DE and WR.

Just clearing the salary alone was a victory for the Vikings.  Improving draft position,  even if wasn't a major improvement,  was the cherry on top of the chocolate cream pie.

I'll say this.  Rick Spielman does a good job in terms of trades.   The Percy Harvin trade is the prime example but there have been a number of smaller deals that have improved the Vikings resources as well.
Quote:Clay is a different TE. The Julius Thomas numbers don't match up in terms of yards this year due to injuries but the man has 24 TD in 2 years. Manning or not, that number is high for a TE who is out there running some WR routes. It is a major upgrade and a reliable target for Bortles. Get Murray and thats even a more sick offense and with a upgrade at Center/Right Tackle would secure our offense up with Blackmon coming back hopefully in football shape would be epic.

Julius Thomas is a great athlete. Not many players with his size that can run like he can. But the thing I can't get out of my head when I watch him (granted, I'm relegated to watching clips on NFL.com), is that the dude is a body-catcher. Of all of the plays I've seen, only one time did I see him actually extend to make a catch. To me, that is very concerning, because it tells me he has to have plays 'designed' for him (shovel passes, wheel routes, fades, quick slants). Don't ask him to make a contested grab over defenders, because that's not his forte. A TE paid as much as Jimmy Graham, shouldn't need plays designed for him to be successful.

Is it bad that I considered 10 million a year a bargain for him? Cut Lewis and the net is only 3 million a year...

The Mark Sanchez contract certainly is incentive.

The guy is about as raw as they come. He said himself that he didn't even know how to get into a three point stance in college and fell over. Maybe he'll develop further, maybe he won't.

I've seen Thomas arm wrestle with DBs while catching it in the bread basket.

He's got hands.
Thomas caught so many seam routes, a route that did not exist according to Fisch. Also its nice to be able to score TDs

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">The Eagles' wild ride will continue: Jeremy Maclin plans to reunite with Andy Reid in Kansas City once free agent market opens Tuesday.

We have two great RBs Toby and D-Rob didnt you hear

Regarding Suh, D6 this may interest ypu:

Quote:Ndamukong Suh | DET

(March 8, 2015 2:14 PM EDT)

NFL.com's Albert Breer reports the Lions offered free agent Ndamukong Suh $17 million per year, and $58 million guaranteed.

They're numbers confirmed by ESPN, with the Lions' official in-house reporter seeming to take them as fact, as well. Suh's reported Dolphins deal is for $19 million per year, and includes $60 million guaranteed. The offers are close enough that it can be taken as a sign that Suh really wanted to get out of Detroit.

Man...

Didn't see that coming. I mean, obviously there was some speculation he could go there, but I haven't read one thing about the Chiefs and Maclin since pre-fa started.
