Quote:DeMarco Murray is the hot name right now. We've also been linked to Jared Odrick and Brian Bulaga.
Bulaga didn't resign with the Packers? Oh man he'd be on the top of my wish list.

He did not, I believe the same report that said we're interested in him said Washington and Tampa Bay were as well.
But we have money that we have to spend. Why would you be against spending it on a pro bowl running back?
Quote:So we got Thomas, lost Suh any word on the other top targets? Been out all weekend, catch me up.
Seems like we got Thomas, then we don't got Thomas. People tweet things, then other people re-tweet those tweets as a "source" and then the original tweeter takes that tweet as a source. Pretty soon, you have multiple "sources" that all originated with the same tweet. It's going to drive us all crazy at least until Tuesday, if not beyond that.

What about the guy who said the reports that the Jags were about to sign Thomas were premature (according to multiple sources)?
Quote:Hope not. Draft is fairly weak at our needs (FS, 4-3 RDE, 4-3 LB, CB)
In contrast, this is a terrific year for 3-4 defenses.
I think we'll see balance in our draft. Too many needs not to. Don't think we'll see defense heavy as we did offense heavy last year.
LEOs and OTTOs have fairly similar skillsets as do 3-4 OLB's, don't they?
Anyway, not my money, but spending big on a RB in a year with a good draft class isn't something I would do.

But if it means that instead of spending a 2nd round pick on a RB, we use that pick for an offensive lineman?

There's been WAY too many people saying JT to Jags is close for it not to happen. Sure, they might not be dotting the i's and crossing the t's, but I have a hard time believing it falls through. Plus, it's 48 hours before they can official sign, so yes, JT being signed would be premature...
Quote:We're in no place to turn down an upgrade at any position.
I cannot argue with this logic.
I may not want to get Murray at the price tag I think he will get but he will be an immediate upgrade. Thats for sure.
Quote:6.11 yards per attempt, 6 more ints than TDS. Less than 60% completion. Thats pretty inept.
Not saying the kid is doomed because you can tell he has some good traits. He needs A LOT of refinement though.
Boy, you can tell you're not a scout because sometimes stat numbers do lie. He had those numbers with an inept offensive line, play caller, no clear cut number#1 receiver in addition to his best receiver gotten injured during week 10 vs the cowboys. Who else or what other rookie can succeed under those circumstances?

Totally agree. All depends on how much the offer is worth.
Just think of it this way. Murray will probably be cheaper than Lewis, but contribute more.
Quote:But if it means that instead of spending a 2nd round pick on a RB, we use that pick for an offensive lineman?
From what I've read, there will be quality RB's into the 4th round (and the league has a lot of good ones drafted after that as well), so a 2nd can still be used on an OT. It's not an either/or. Whether that 2nd round OT comes in and solidifies the position right away is another question. Fans don't like playing the waiting game on Joekel, so will they be patient with a rookie RT?

Is that the measuring stick?
Quote:Just think of it this way. Murray will probably be cheaper than Lewis, but contribute more.
Well you could say that about 50% of the league.

The tweet said talks of them already agreeing to a deal were premature.
