I would be completely shocked if Murray chose Jacksonville.

DeMarco Murray knows where the Cowboys and Jaguars stand. He's looking for more ($8M-plus per year). Market hasn't gone there.

Caldwell isn't stupid. Can't blame Murray for trying even though I wish he would come to his senses.

So we are out of it because Dave Caldwell knows running backs are not worth $8 million per year.

hmm, i wonder i our offer is more than the Cowgirls?
Thanks to everyone posting tweets and links.  I appreciate that I can just come here and get the news.

Oh, and if we miss out on Murray or Hardy lets not forget the great signing class we already locked down.

I would say he doesn't pick us unless we offer the deal he wants. He doesn't seem to have any wanting to join the Jags and would much rather stay in a large markt like the Cowboys or join the Eagles. Caldwell is going to be smart and not offer up more money because there is really not a huge importance on getting a guy that we can find a similar player in the draft. No need to get someone who doesn't want to play for the team.

LOL!

Our T. Gipson discussion is buried somewhat in the vast depths of this thread.
Quote:From the bits and pieces of the DeMarco Murray contract negotiations I've seen in this thread and on some other websites,  my gut feeling is he's using the Jaguars and Raiders as contract leverage to sign with the Cowboys or Eagles.   While I understand the business side of the equation,  it doesn't seem like he truly wants to play for the Jaguars or Raiders.   Otherwise,  this probably would have been resolved by now.

Yeah, it sure appears to be the case. Eagles? Interested? That's weird, unless it's for later trade bait.

Murray is in no hurry it seems and im guessing he wants the Cowboys to ante up a bit more, or go to a team that will contend.

Bet yer [BLEEP] if NE, Broncos,GB or Seahawks offered the same thing Jags are...zoom....he's signed.

We are not missing out on Greg Hardy if we don't try to get him. And so far I have seen nothing that indicates we want Hardy.

Can't blame him at all. He's the leading rusher and there are running backs making far more than eight million a year.
Quote:I'm guessing he hasn't received the offer he wanted from any team and is playing them off of one another in hopes of getting to that number. That number is too high for Jacksonville and they're dropping back.

I agree with you to a large extent.   However,  deep down it at least feels like DeMarco Murray is trying to go the extra mile in getting the type of offer you mentioned from either the Cowboys or Eagles.

He was willing to take a small hometown discount to stay in Dallas and since we're still mentioned as a possibility means we likely, I bet our offer is a decent amount higher. Dallas was offering $5million per year a week or so ago and I'd guess we're offering somewhere in the neighborhood of $6-6.5 million per.

 Maybe he retires.  Smile

If I was a moderator, I would pick them out and create a new Gipson thread.

I'm sure he'd prefer Dallas or Philadelphia over Oakland and Jax, but I'd bet he would sign with whichever team gives into his contract demands.

Zero chance we end up with Gipson.

If he is willing to take a hometown discount, why hasn't he re-signed with the Cowboys already like Randall Cobb did?
Feel bad? Disappointed? Offense needs more help?

Eagles give up Foles, McCoy,Maclin

Get Sam Bradford and Ryan Mathews.

Unless I'm missing something, ole Chip ain't feelin much brotherly love in Iggle land. Seems the bell isn't the only thing cracked.

I don't expect to get him either.

He wants to take a hometown on the contract he wants (>$8million), not the contracts being offered (<$8million).
