What? That is 3 elite FA and a tier 2 one...
Quote:Ok, I will go one further...no one should be seriously upset if we only land one marquee FA (such as Julius Thomas). As I said at least a dozen times over the last week or two, there were 18 teams with 20+ mil cap space, 8 teams with 40+, and I believe 4 teams with 60+. That doesn't even count a team like the Dolphins who just managed to manipulate the salary cap to hand out the biggest non QB contract in history with only about 10 mil cap space going into FA.
If you are upset because we only land one elite guy with that unprecedented crazy amount of cap competition, most or all of whom are perceived to be closer to competing or a better market, then I feel sorry for your expectations too. If we manage to sneak in McCourty or something else then great, but if we only get another handful of impact second tier guys like Parnell, Odrick, Moore or Parker, etc. then it was still a wonderful FA period and we will be a greatly improved roster going into the draft.
I agree with this. We could still get another top guy like Bulaga, Maclin, Mccourty or Moore. But even if we don't the volume of solid players we can bring in is encouraging.

I would argue that Thomas is the only elite one. Either way, I would expect more volume than that. Maybe Orakpo, Worilds or another leo-otto guy, and a veteran receiver.
Anyways, not really trying to argue just saying I'm thinking we get more like 6 guys instead of 4.

It's highly likely that they would add more volume. My message was directed towards those that had expectations of a Suh, Cobb, Thomas, McCourty, Bulaga ty

We really don't though. Honestly, people expecting Suh, McCourty, Bulaga, Thomas, etc. etc. in ONE FA class were just setting themselves up for disappointment. That doesn't ever happen.
Like someone else said, Thomas, a good pass rusher like we're rumored to be in on, Odrick, maybe a safety/corner, that's a pretty nice fa class right there. We have next year to spend in FA too, and we're not going to just spend every cent in camp availble this year. I dont know who thought that would be the case.
We can still get Thomas, Bulaga, McCourty/maxwell and Orakpo......don't know why we can't anymore?
You can't build a football team through free agency only. Jags have drafted really well the last couple years. Add a few names in UFA and keep finding more gems through the draft. Will we winning soon.
Wouldn't mind maclin or t smith either.

Hopefully Maxwell to the Eagles leaves McCourty free.

#Jaguars are trying to give Bortles as much help as they can. Planning on adding Julius Thomas as "move" TE.

What should we take these tweets as?
I'm just unsure if I should get excited or not. Maxwell and Suh's deals are out, but all we here on Julius is "the Jaguars "plan" to add him."

Wow! That's really overpaying for Maxwell. But, that's what you get the first few days of free agency.

Pats still have time as well as giants and titans....keep fingers crossed

People are worried Bulaga will sign an 11th-hour contract to stay in Green Bay and the McCourty will do the same with New England. I don't know why anybody is scared about missing out on Orakpo.

Gezus..... I figured he wanted the eagles after that ESPN interview lol
GO JAGS!!
Kareem Jackson got 8.5mil/yr to stay in Houston. Maxwell getting 10+ on the open market was an absolute lock.
