Is their a reason why it seems we are not interested in Maclin?
I always thought he was the better fit than Cobb... More of a vertical threat, but also the experience we covet.
Quote:WOW that one I never expected Packers are loaded at WR
Why are you surprised? Randall Cobb always said he wants to stay in Green Bay.

There's a good chance that the Jaguars will sign one or more mid to high priced players that very few people are projecting them to sign.
One reason to try to stay optimistic is the way the Jags brass kept the Blake Bortles interest a secret. The same might happen with a FA or two you hope they sign.
Quote:The good news is the likelihood of Bryan Bulaga leaving Green Bay and coming to Jacksonville has increased as a result of the Randall Cobb news.
It is one thing for the Packers to lose Bryan Bulaga. The Jaguars signing him is a totally different animal.
How many teams are targeting him? Are the Jaguars interested?
This happens every year: hype about upcoming free agents, and many of them dont even make it to market because of 11th hour deals.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">I'll be very surprised if the Jags don't land an impact TE in free agency. Best thing for a young, developing QB. They have the $.

I didnt think they would pony up the cash for him, but he took a home town discount anyways

And they will get more money after cutting Marcedes Lewis.

I was just about to post this. You finally beat me, haha.

All any of us can do is speculate. There's rumors flying in every which direction. Some are true. Many aren't.
To take a guess, based on the player's abilities, and the amount of teams that have plenty of salary cap space, probably at least 5 teams have series interest in Bryan Bulaga. I would be surprised if the Jaguars aren't one of them. Because of the Jags have the most or 2nd most cap space, they have to be considered a very serious player for Bulaga's services if he doesn't re-sign with the Packers by 4pm ET on Tuesday. My gut feeling is Bulaga will be moving on from Green Bay unless he gives the Packers an even greater discount than Randall Cobb reportedly did. For what it's worth, I'm predicting Bulaga signs with the Jags if he hits the open market on Tuesday.
It seems that we might just be jumping the gun a little bit here. Lets wait until Wednesday

Why Wednesday? Zane Beadles became a Jaguar on the first day of FA last year. By March 11, we already will have a couple guys.
Possible good news for us not overbidding on Julius:

<p class="" style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;"><a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Raiders?src=hash'>#Raiders</a> have interest in TE Jermaine Gresham, source said. Not as much as first thought on Julius Thomas.

I hope so. I want Mccourtey, Hughes, Murray, Thomas, Bulaga, Orakpo and Suh. (Harvin)

Tuesday we will but Wednesday we will learn of even more excitement, I believe

Is Adam Caplan a reliable source of NFL news?
I will be surprised if Julius Thomas is not a Jaguar on Tuesday at 4:00.

Of the players you mentioned, which player ( s ) do you think the Jaguars have the best chance of landing, based on what you expect their strategy to be?
Is Julius Thomas a young "Blue Chipper"?
Quote:Yes he is.
The fact that he has many connections in the NFL leads me to believe that his information is worth paying attention too. Yet, having said that, the team and/ or agents involved could be providing false information to try to throw other teams and agents off.
