Just giving you a hard time. I think everybody's excited about the pending FA signings today and 4PM can't get here soon enough. Let's hope the Jags aren't added to the long list of teams who "win" free agency but lose on the field.

Agreed. I think Dave knows how to get guys who fit the scheme and will work well, not just signing players for name recognition like most teams who "win" FA do.
Based on season in the league and amount of carries, getting DeMarco Murray now would be similar to getting MJD before the 2010 season. I don't have a problem with this.
In his first 4 years in the league MJD had 842 carries (for 3924 yards). In his first 4 years DeMarco Murray has has 934 carries (for 4,526 yards). Murray is 2 years older this season than MJD was in 2010 though.
is it me or is 4pm too long from now. I cant wait.
I think the analyst who actually pay attention to football will say we won. The sheeple analysts will say if you didn't get suh, then you had a bad FA

Wow, that seems odd. Hope we take him to a nice seafood dinner and def call him again....

Interesting, thought I kept hearing rumors they were trying to work with him. Guess not. Question is, they freed up cap space, money being equal, do you go to the team that didn't contact you and made you a bad offer from the start, or go to the team who wants you there and offered you a nice contract from the start?
I think Jerry Jones would really love to see Adrian Peterson in Dallas and I think Peterson would really love to go to Dallas. I think that's who they've been clearing up cap room for.

I still think back to when Jerry Jones spoke to Adrian Peterson a year or two ago. I think JJ is preparing to either trade for Peterson or use a draft pick in the top 2 Rounds on a RB unless DeMarco Murray is willing to re-sign under his terms. Because this is a deep RB draft, the Cowboys can be selective at the position. Especially, knowing that they have one of the best Offensive Lines in the NFL, if not the # 1 O-Line.

^ this...AP has verbally said he wants to be a cowgirl

In essence, the post I just made reflects what you expressed. With the Cowboys having viable contingency plans, even if they don't land A.P.

That makes sense. I could def see AP there. He'd be a beast with that OL.
Kind of hope it goes that way, I didn't want Murray originally but after all this speculation I've changed my mind lol
I think Murray would be a really good signing. I've seen people say he's injury prone but he's only missed 2 games in the past 2 years. I see people say the Cowboys have ran him into the ground but his first 3 years where normal running back years for carries. Last year was an anomaly but I doubt having an extra 80-100 carries in 1 season will make him a much worse player.
No way he can have another 400~ carry season, that would be terrible but he could be a great contributor with 250~ carries splitting reps with DRob or Storm or Toby.

Because of all of the Jaguars available salary cap space, this is a good luxury opportunity for the team. Blake Bortles would benefit greatly if DeMarco Murray soften ups opposing Defenses with his bruising rushing style. Not to mention, the benefits associated with the opposition needing to put a Safety in the box much more frequently.

Even if the Jaguars would only get 2 quality seasons from DeMarco Murray with around 250 carries, that would go along way in the team turning things around. With the eventual plan of using a draft pick to replace Murray as the # 1 RB, when the team is much further along down the road.

And then we have the Julius Thomas factor...man.

I agree. I still remember MJD a few years ago saying watch out for him bc he's going to explode.
I could see us moving Toby into a FB roll and Murray/D-Rob splitting. Probably like a 75/25 split
Good plan. Toby would be a highly paid FB, but we got the money for it, lol. Murray and Robinson would be a good combo.

While so much depends on how the Jaguars Offensive Line develops, the improved skill player situation for the team would certainly go along way in the overall improvement of the Jags Offense.
