Dems about to impeach again for Trump defunding WHO in an effort to cement his already cemented reelection in November.

I don't want to see pork attached to authorizing more PPP funds either.

But I also want to make sure no other state has an election like Wisconsin just did.  We need to start making vote by mail available to everyone.  And I don't say that to be partisan.  Wisconsin's turnout was way way down, yet, in the only D vs R race on the ballot (state supreme Court), the Democrat won.

True, the left conscripted the term "liberal" by pretending that they stood for liberal principles. We know that's not true though no one seems willing to admit it. The true enemy, the socialist left (spit), is what we should be resisting at every turn. You mikey are just a squish RINO who they use as a useful idiot to parrot their lines and attempt to make them palatable to people who really ought to know better.

Presumably you don't believe it.

There's no way of knowing how many foreigners voted in California, but several have admitted doing so. It could be millions. There was also massive mail-in ballot fraud in a race in North Carolina, and the vote had to be redone.

The original purpose of the secret ballot was to prevent the buying* of votes. Mail-in ballots get around that. Even if you don't believe there has been "widespread voter fraud" so far, this opens up a whole new frontier.

*Or coercion. I could just as well have written "give me your signed mail-in ballot to fill out or I'll kill your cat."
If there is widespread voter fraud it is obviously pro Republican or completely ineffective.

I mean do they really need the help in California?

Yeah, you’re the guy not from around here aren’t ya?  The Aussie?

The way I see it, despite the fraud and antics the general population has their head on straight.

They do have vote by mail. It's called absentee voting. My wife and I are registered absentee. I VOTE BY MAIL

The issue is, the people you prefer to vote by mail are too freaking lazy to do what they need to do in order to actually vote by mail.

People like you want the bottom of the barrel of our society determining policy.

So in Florida you can request a ballot by mail with advanced notice, no excuse needed.
That's basically the rule in Wisconsin too, however the stay-at-home orders were really close to the deadline to request a ballot.

The problem is states like Missouri, where you have to swear to a statement saying that you have particular health problems that prevent you from showing up to the polls.

All 50 states need to make vote by mail available to everyone who wants to vote that way, just like Florida, and all elections need to be delayed until everybody who wants one has had a chance to request one.

Once we have that common sense principle in place, it can be up to governors whether to delay elections, or force everyone to switch by vote by mail, during emergencies and pandemics.

(1) is ballot harvesting, legal in CA, and doesn't violate the principle of a secret ballot.

(2) is fraud, illegal everywhere, investigated everywhere, and hard to do in any significant fashion without being noticed.

How are you in any position to determine if it is a problem or not?  There are 174,252 precincts in the US.  How many do you personally monitor on election day, 0 or 1?

Thank you for filling in my point. As far as your choices ...

(3) ballot harvesting is fraud (or worse if it involves coercion), illegal everywhere, easy to do and hard to discover, much less get enough evidence for a conviction. The North Carolina case is just the tip of the iceberg.

In California the fraud is in registering, not ballot harvesting. California doesn't make much effort to check whether or not the registrant is a citizen. Since the foreigners vote for the party in charge there's a strong incentive to let it slip by or even encourage it.

As far as your "angels" comment, that's not a good analogy. How many foreigners vote in California is something that can actually be measured, but California is not interested in doing so.

An alternative would be to make more polling places available so that voters can still practice social distancing. It's not as if they couldn't make it less crowded than a supermarket.

I wasn't asking you to choose between two things.

In any case, any kind of shenanigans with absentee ballots are easy to spot before they become significant in scale. think about how many doors you have to knock on or mailboxes you have to open to mess with a thousand mail in votes. The first three people you ask, might be friendly and go along with your schemes. The fourth person you ask might tell you to get the hell off their porch and then place a call to the supervisor of elections.

"Do we really need to delay voting for those ready?"

In a case like Wisconsin, yes, it should have been delayed. Because they, as a state, were not ready. Their governor said they were not ready, but their supreme Court said he didn't have the authority to determine that.
For federal elections (the one in Wisconsin was just a state election), Congress has the authority to impose guidelines on states, so they need to pass a law establishing expectations (vote by mail must be possible for every registered voter) and decision making structures (who gets to delay an election or switch it to be by mail only) as the pandemic continues to unfold.

But what do you mean by ready?
