Missed his point. His point is that if he wants to risk inhaling the virus, he has the right to do so if he chooses. The mask is irrelevant. To address that, masks are there to help you not spread to other people. It's really not that big a deal to wear a mask, as long as the government is clear about their goals. I also think DeSantis is doing a good job.

Comparing the two in terms of preserving lives is a big reach. Society doesn't agree about when or if a fetus is a life. If a fetus is a life, abortion kills every single time. But if a fetus is not alive, abortion never kills. It's a philosophical question with a simple answer once you choose a precept.
Everyone agrees that wearing a mask only becomes "effective" when infected people wear them. The ambiguity is, infected people often believe they are uninfected. So the best message is to tell everyone to wear one. That's a scientific question, whose answer lies deep in Bayesian statistics.

Here's an even better thought. How about you wear a mask so other people don't have to stay home? I mean, seriously, you don't think it's selfish to make other people stay home because you don't want to wear a mask? What's the big deal about wearing a mask? It's a tiny sacrifice on your part so other people can get back to leading a semi-normal life. Weigh the two options- you wearing a mask, or other people having to stay home, with all the effects that has on people's lives and the economy.
The only curve we can flatten is a log curve. Without maths trickery, we're absolutely f*&ked. Infections getting worse and worse every day.
