I'm pretty sure there was a Chinese Study that showed of 380 some odd outbreaks only one occured outside, and that was limited to two people.  In 1993 The CDC issued guidelines for high room UV light in facilities treating drug resistant tuberculosis.  But hey, let's not let the entire known history of virology, biology, etc. get in the way of calling the president an idiot.  let's keep getting to work on those 40k ventilators that Cuomo is going to need at a 90% mortality rate.
Wait.... so now we believe Chinese studies? I thought they cooked the books.

Either way, let me know how shoving the UV light up somewhere goes for you!

Also, what study was there about objecting disinfectant into the body? Would you recommend doing that?

When that study coincides with ever known fact about virology its a pretty safe bet.

if there was a pin with a uv tip that you could insert in your nose if you think you may have touched your face without washing your hands that wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.  We already sell toothbrushes and other things with UV disinfectant technology.

As for injecting disinfectant, that's not what he said.  The question he asked was essentially is there any way you can use a form of disinfectant to clean inside the body, like in a nasal passage or down the esophageal track.  Essentiallytialy, that's what an anti-viral drug is.  He didn't stand up there and advocate mainlining lysol.

It's truly amazing how you can interpret some science correctly and some not.

On the UV light in rooms with patients who have antibiotic resistant TB - whose life is that saving? Does the light go "into the body"? C'mon man.  Your brain can be used for so much better things than covering up the skid marks on 45's tighty whities...

It's also amazing how you seem to interpret everything incorrectly.  I mean usually broken clock theory would kick in, but hey.  Some people just have a gift.

As for UV light going into the body, we currently have the technology to look inside orfaces for all kinds of reasons.  If retrofitting a low dose UV light bulb could help reduce viral load in the lungs and help clear the infection then hey.  Right now positive pressure manual ventilation has a near 90% fail rate.  The social distancing that was prescribed by the experts is about to bring up 20% unemployment and product shortages we don't yet comprehend, but hey.  What do i know.  Tell the lass again how you have to shut down Disneyworld so we can keep the Subways in NYC open.

Now, is it going to be used in the body, probably not. Can we use it in restaraunt and other public places? Absolutely.

You didn't answer my question (whose life does the UV light save), and you attributed a statement to me that I never said.
You're the one so fascinated by NYC subways, not me.
But since you mentioned them, I compared the crowds that used to be on those subways to the crowds at Disney world.  Both are great places for the virus to spread to lots of people. So both crowds need to be reduced as much as possible.
NYC issued a stay at home order but did not shut down the subways.  Subway ridership is way down because most people are only using subways for essential travel.
But Disney world has no essential use.  So it's just shut down.

Preserving life comes first.
Preserving jobs doesn't have the same priority, except to the extent that those jobs keep people alive, with food, medicine, and shelter.
In the short term, there are ways to get food and shelter to masses of people who are temporarily out of work.
In the long term, this is probably not sustainable.  But six months to 1 year, that's short term, not long term.

How many people was it?
Tell me, so we can compare it to how many people might have died in a "hospitals are overwhelmed" type scenario.

So you care about numbers relative to the overall population all of a sudden? If that is the case, then COVID-19 is no big deal, no?

Trump literally asked Birx to look into injecting/ingesting disinfectant as a means to stop CV19.

That amazing pontification came shortly after wondering aloud if sunlight and/or ultraviolet rays would treat CV19.

Neither idea is that outlandish, and many scientific breakthroughs are made by pursuing unusual lines of inquiry.  Note that current oncology practice includes both radiation and the injection of chemical toxins.

As for Trump's daily news briefings, my wife & I liven things up with a drinking game we call "ventilators".

So because he is not a doctor he can't put forth an idea?  As usual the media (both traditional and social) is taking what he said out of context.  Look at the whole exchange.  There were comments made regarding the sun and heat killing the virus as well as how cleaning surfaces with bleach or alcohol kills it.  He simply asked the health professionals if there was a way to do that in a human body, said that he wasn't a doctor, and said that maybe it will work and maybe it won't.

He just asked the question.  He DID NOT advocate people consume or inject cleaners and DID NOT say that people needed to be in the sun or under ultraviolet light.  He simply asked the health professionals if that was possible.

I missed that press conference so I don't know the context of what he said, but, why did he ask that question in the middle of a press conference?  Usually in a press conference, the President and his minions answer questions.  Why did he start asking his own people questions like that on national TV?  Seems pretty weird to me.

JIB, are you seriously happy with that? That our president pontificates that "Oh, hey, maybe injecting household disinfectant or somehow getting UV rays inside the body will kill a virus? Dr. Birx, I'm no doctor, so maybe you could look into that? Seems interesting." Which then starts a chain-reaction of tweets from the Surgeon General on down to the social media teams of big brand disinfectants to caution against self-medicating with disinfectants? Then walking it all back saying it was just sarcasm, diminishing any defense of his statements? Jesus.

Man, I'll own up to it: I voted for Obama in his 2nd term - but if he pontificated crap like that paired with almost a daily occurrence of (take your pick) narcissism, abuse, incitement of violence, lies, etc. during his first term, you can absolutely bet I'd question A) his mental capacity/state of mind, and B) why I should even bother considering his re-election bid. Regardless, I'd be absolutely embarrassed to defend said actions - in fact, I wouldn't. Especially not when the CV19 death toll surpassed 50k and he previously tweeted shade at his predecessor saying that he'd never allow a pandemic to claim American lives.

People can say anything. Obama said lots of lies. That doesn't matter. I criticize Obama for what he did, not what he said. I can make a long list of things Obama did that I find abhorrent. Lets start with signing two agreements (treaties) with foreign countries and then acted on them without Senate approval, something that was 100% unconstitutional. He also created a lot of "can't do this" rules and regulations without Congressional approval, basically grabbing power at the expense of freedom.

What has Trump done (as opposed to what he said) that you don't like.

He just asked the question.  He DID NOT advocate people consume or inject cleaners and DID NOT say that people needed to be in the sun or under ultraviolet light.  He simply asked the health professionals if that was possible.

Did he actually use the term "household" or are you lying about that?
