You’re right. Loud mouthed twit should be replaced with exploited child with disabilities (she claims to be autism spectrum).

I'm entirely right. PCPs are for prevention at best. Other than that they don't have the time and/or knowledge to solve anything. It's not that they are stupid, couldn't be a specialist, etc, but they are a gate keeper from the past (where you may have only had 1 doctor in town) to keep people from going to specialist for everything. It's their choice and it's a terrible career for the most part now. They used to be great and treated anything in small towns but you can't survive anymore. You may not like it and there are some that still care but those are few and far between.

Most doctors don't even think for themselves anymore. The associations, agencies, hospitals, insurance, etc tell them how to treat people. If a PCP runs a test and it's abnormal, it will tell them what to prescribe. If they don't know what to do, they search the symptoms and get the treatment or tell you to go see a specialist. Most people even have insurance that requires them to get a referral from the GATE KEEPER. It doesn't mean doctors are heartless but it is beaten out of them in no amount of time. It isn't about healing people it is a business.

There are outliers to this but you will have to pay for them. They either don't take insurance or will be more costly for the additional time and freedom. They aren't beholden to the insurance companies and the agencies.

I'm really curious as to how you came to this conclusion, you seem so sure of something that's so ignorant.

What is ignorant? I've worked or had access to all sides in this industry.

Doctors - They are all part of some type of group now. Those groups have to then decide what insurance to accept. Those insurance companies set the treatment requirements and sop.
Insurance - They determine which drugs, services, etc that they will cover. They also set sop for treatment.
Pharma - They create contracts for drug usage and formulary with insurance and providers. They pay rebates for usage and formulary coverage.

Doctors have little say in treatment, specifically with PCP. They have to follow the sop for your insurance or you won't be covered. Most cheaper plans require you to get referrals from your PCP. They are setup to run tests and be the gate keeper to determine if you get to see a doctor that specializes in your area of need. Most treatments will have a plan they have to follow. Give drug X, up dosage, then you can request a real solution and go to a specialist. Even if you get a script, insurance says to give you the generic. Generics don't always work and your doctor should have control to script the drug that will work for you.

That is just a simple example. The PCP has very little chances to practice medicine that is unique for you. Everything is defined with sop to give you the cheapest possible solution for the general population. That cheapest solution is not the best solution. It is the solution that the drug company gave the largest rebate to the insurance company to cut the price and get it listed on tier 2. A lot of new drugs that pharma companies want to get quick adoption, they pay to put on tier 2. There is nothing that a PCP would treat that they can decide the treatment their self or tweak it. They are just there to tell you to take some drug.

There are PCPs and other doctors that split with nutritional and/or natural medicine that do create custom treatments. Those doctors generally are able to work outside of the insurance sop though. Outside of those, your treatment is determined by your insurance or you have to pay out of pocket.
This got weird.

Your government has officially turned you all against each other. Mission accomplished

When it comes to politics and religion people are pretty hardcore. Being that nearly everything is being made political these days it's not hard to see how things are so black and white.

If I'm adamant about something it's because I've experienced or lived it. Otherwise I've lived enough life and around such a variety of people and places that helps me think more broadly. I definitely don't view everything through a political lens but it's sometimes hard to not get drawn into the bickering.

I'm actually not and usually prefer the drug option. The best fixes though usually involve both as most of the common issues are because of diet and lifestyle.

So you can't tell the difference between a fable and reality. That does go a long way to explaining your position in this thread.

I agree that diet and lifestyle contribute greatly to good health, but perfectly healthy people are being killed by Covid-19 as they are with pretty much all other viruses.
But it's RARE. I would love to look at the exact numbers, but, you know... we don't have them. Perfectly healthy people die of heart attacks. There was a marathon runner that dropped dead a couple years ago. We don't use that as evidence to avoid exercise. I am just frustrated at the lack of consistency in our reasoning about this.

No one is ignoring it, it was specifically addressed during development and researchers are continually monitoring for it. How many cases of Delta-driven ADE can you point to in order to validate your concern? Because if it were happening we'd have thousands of dead vaccinated people to show for it.
Delta Airlines to require employees to get vaccinated or they will have to pay a $200/month surcharge added to the cost of their medical insurance. This is in effect 1 November. It is to offset the $50K cost of the average hospital stay of employees.

Again, vaccinated people are being hospitalized as well and I don't care that they aren't as sick. They can still spread it and still end up in the hospital. If you're going to punish some go ahead and punish everyone. Make everyone pay. This is BS. I told my husband last year that things couldn't get more absurd than 2020.

Variation in premiums is normal. I have to get a physical every year and my cost varies based on 7 different metrics.

This is targeting one specific group of people for one specific thing.

We have to get a physical every year as well and our cost does not vary, but if you have specific issues to be addressed (blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.) they hook you up with a health coach you speak to once every quarter (or more if you want) to help identify and plan what needs to be done to alleviate the problem. There are several programs within the system to help in this process.

Helping people get the healthcare they need and forcing people to get a vaccine are not the same thing.
