Would be happy with Spielman/Pederson or Wilson/Leftwich. Just need to make a decision already. They've already [BLEEP] up the senior bowl week and this was actually a great year to have some representation considering most of the talent on both teams there will be available in RD3 - RD5 more than likely.

Would have been a great chance to see some of these guys up close.
On 1010xl Garofolo was saying there seems to be a momentum with this Peterson and Spielman to Jacksonville. Also said Fangio and Bisaccia may have been interviewed for Def coord and ST coord positions under Peterson. If true, that is the beginnings of a very good coaching staff.

The guy also said we have been talking to Spielman for weeks. If we can get that hall it would be amazing

Spielman Pederson Fangio is pretty incredible if the Jags somehow pull that off.
I know this is definitely racist/ageist
But I’m kinda tired of seeing a gaggle of old white coaches.
I really loved the idea of having a young coach who happened to be a minority. These young coaches seem to be doing well in the NFL.
But why have we been interviewing all these coordinators to work with pederson when it’s been over a month since we last interviewed him, non of the rumours or news adds together or makes any sense

Seriously? What about the Jaguars in the last few weeks have made sense?

They were also floating the possibility of Matt Nagy as OC (though at the moment I might favor Gary Kubiak).

Because this team is grasping at straws, trying to figure a way to keep Baalke from having to be fired. If we get Pederson and Spielman, Baalke will remain with the team in some way and still have power. Just watch.
It sounds like some things are falling into place nicely, but Baalke still being around and the rumored names for OC are pathetic so far.

I think Byron/Wilson with their rumored coordinators and no Baalke still sounds much better.
This “All-Star Coaching Staff” concept being floated around is so Shad.

It could work on paper.

When has he done that before?

What is wrong with having good assistant coaches?

You mean the 2 guys that's never been coordinators before?  First time HC, first time GM, first time DC, first time OC.  What could go wrong

It could work, but I think OC is going to be the most important job on the team considering Trevor and all...and the names that been thrown out as candidates for that are extremely underwhelming. Pray new candidates pop up.

Nothing at all provided that they can all work together in concert, but doesn’t the HC usually pick his coordinators?

EDIT: just realized this was Craigukjag’s point a few posts back.

A lot could go wrong, but a whole lot could go right too. Eevery name that was mentioned is a highly respected, highly touted up and comer.

I think that had just as good of a shot as putting the old boys club back together, especially with there being a known snake among them and likely an extremely unimaginative person at OC.
The more I think about this, the more I don’t like it. Pederson/Spielman and go from there? I’m in.

Baalke interviewing Bisaccia and Fangio for coordinator positions, then Shad hiring a VP to curb Baalke’s power so that Pederson will agree to become head coach after a second interview today? No. There’s a word that keeps popping up during this little adventure in different articles I’ve read concerning what works when putting a front office and coaching staff together, and that word is “alignment”. At the moment, this is NOT alignment.

This isn’t organic. It’s forced.

Who has come up so far? I can tell you I don't like Nagy. I do like Kubiak though, if he's out there for some reason. My thoughts though is that as long as Pederson or Leftwich are dialed in with the day-to-day flow that the OC's style should correlate to what either of those two are looking for.

I think if it's Spielman and Pederson? Baalke is demoted. It's then up to Spielman and Pederson to resolve any of the coaching decisions and have final say in personnel decisions.

Baalke I legitimately believe has to be maintained now this late into the process because you need him for current insights on this roster and you're going to need him as far as anything moving forward with the scouting department and the potential cap cutting or cap addition transactions that need to take place in about six weeks.

He did just enough to hang on. Although, a lot of that can be credited to Khan's unwillingness to start clean. As he has shown historically since he took over.

Nagy, Kubiak, and Press Taylor.
