What’s really sad is that things are so jacked up right now, I can barely tell when someone’s joking.
Failed coaching search confirmed.
I love the idea of a vp of football, the issue I have is if they keep baalke it’s purely that if we have another bad season they sack him and blame him for a poor draft or free agency. Rather than finding the right culture and resetting seems there just always looking for the next scape goat

The way I’m interpreting it is that Baalke is a high salary scout. Spielman will be drafting and making all roster moves.

Yeah I agree that’s how I read it, but by keeping him you ultimately give yourself a free pass for a bad year. They sack him next year and everyone’s happy and forgets what ever may happen next season. Unfortunately it seems to be a trend in the nfl these days of coach’s and gms trying to gain leverage over each other in order to survive.

It’s why I liked the idea of Byron and Wilson who seemed to from the outside to really wanna work together as a team.

No, no not good enough. OLineMatters will stop being a fan. Can't let it happen

Here we go

I'll believe that when I see it. I still think Baalke will be over Spielman. Shad has been such a defender of Baalke, I can't see him demoting the guy now. He should've done it earlier in the process and we could've gotten our pick of coaches. Doing it now, makes no sense and just makes him look even more foolish.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’m 100% team Spielman/Wilson/Leftwich.

But for whatever reason, Baalke is staying. This is best case scenario if Baalke has to stay.

I never said I'd stop being a fan. I said I would take a hiatus from this team until Shad Khan gets his head out of his butt.

I am interpreting it as them as keeping Baalke around in the title of King Snake. There is no amount of neutering you can do short of firing that Baalke can't still do serious damage.

I think he’d be a great hire but I don’t know how shad can tell the fans media and players we got the right man when everyone is well aware he was at best 5th option.

I think it's more credible to say, "We looked at every possible option and the choice we made is based all we learned about each man throughout the process. The decision to hire Xxx to coach our franchise quarterback was based on a deliberate and thorough evaluation of how he will lead and develop the roster of this team in the coming days. I could not be more pleased to have him take the lead as we work to bring our franchise back to prominence."

Of course if they had said that back in January we'd all be much happier right now.
I finally figured it out. Baalke has evidence that Shad paid out bonuses to the coaching staff to tank at the end of the 2020 season so that they could get the first overall pick and draft Lawrence. He told Khan that if he’s fired, he’s going straight to Schefter.

I don't trust it. If that happens, I believe it's Shad Khan telling Spielman what he wants to hear in order to take the job. You know as well as I do, Baalke will be going behind Spielman's back and getting in Khan's ear, every chance he gets. The guy is a snake and one way or another, will worm his way into power.

That’s going to be one long hiatus.   Big Grin

If that were the case, what would the NFL do? Take Lawrence away in an unmarked van and assign him to a different team? LOL.

I doubt that Khan is paying that level of attention.

Permanent vacation. I am fed up as well. Took me all year to convince my wife that Trevor Lawrence has potential. She ejected becauae of the way Minshew was treated.

She is on me constantly to change teams. It is very difficult to convince her that a future is possible supporting this ownership.
