Please don’t bring that angry baboon into our building. Wait no I’m offending baboons. Don’t bring that angry lump of mud in our building

Yup hiring this guy would line up perfectly with all of the other dumb decisions Khan has made. I wont be surprised one bit if he's our next HC.

The irony is that Hopkins was the guy trying to walk him away from the situation. No wonder BoB traded him away for peanuts, Hopkins probably told him he was an idiot LOL.
Kellen Moore would likely be my top choice. I'm more than fine with Byron Leftwich and Jim Caldwell (I'd love to have Caldwell in the building in any capacity,).
I enjoyed Cullen progress over the season but I'd entertain the possibility of getting Wade Phillips as DC.

Anyway I think we end up with Bill O'Brien and Baalke. And for some reason I think Khan will move make his move relatively quickly on this. It's sad, maddening, frustrating and everything...just hope it's not going to happen.
If you we get a coach you dont like but the teams wins will you be happy and excited? However, you absolutely hate the coach. That's the question.

Also, they are interviewing bevel today. Ugh. I guess the good thing about him would be that he would probably keep Cullen . Then later this week they are interviewing Hackett

Think of it like owning a beater of a car that you know is on its last leg.

Early morning, a chill in the air, you're running a little behind for work. You crank the key, the engine struggles, but turns over. YAY! but in the back of your mind, you still wonder if the next time you need it to crank up, if that's the moment when the car gives up the ghost. If we had a coach in whom I have no confidence, I won't complain about the wins, but that uneasiness will keep me from being ecstatic. Doesn't mean it can't work out, but if we get this hiring cycle wrong it might take half a decade or more to undo the damage incurred from last January forward.

Is there a coach that wins in the NFL but everyone hates them? I'm not sure there is so this is a weird question.

We can all say who we want as the coach and if they hire BOB, I will hate it. If they keep Baalke, I will hate it. But come Sundays in 2022, I will cheer for them to win every game.

I knew I didn't like Meyer by halfway through the game in week 2 of regular season, but I rooted for him for 2 more weeks to turn it around before I wanted him gone.

Does that count?

I'm gonna be open minded about anyone they hire/promote/retain etc, but the leash is short when you have a team with this historical W/L record.
At this point my choice is Leftwich, as he is the only coach with a rumor attached to him that he would bring in a new GM.

I think it's often that they are disliked either because of non-football things or that the fans are siding with a player at odds with the coach (McCarthy in GB). Winning cures a lot of ills.

Coughlin had a rough start in NY, but once they were winning, the other stuff stopped making headlines.

2. Doug Pederson
3. Kellen Moore

I like Moore but I don't think Jacksonville's situation calls for an entry level head coach.

This is my stance now as well. Same order. I like Pederson and Caldwell for the offensive aspect they bring to the table. Flores I like because I think he did a lot with little in Miami and he may have a fire in his belly to jump right back into it with a new team.

I'm not sure I'd want Caldwell as the HC. I want continuity and I don't think he coaches for more than a couple more years. I'd rather see him in some kind of QB/Asst HC role.

Ideally I would think his successor would be on his staff already and it would be an easy transition if they're able to elevate and build up Lawrence to a top 5 - 10 QB over the next 2, 3 years.

I've been surprised O'Connell's name hasn't come up more.  I remember hearing a lot about him a month or so ago but not much since.  Just saw the Panthers and Broncos are interested.  Maybe he is just too inexperienced.  But same can be said for Lefty and Moore.

that's a good point, it's why I have him at #2 for HC. I bet he won't take less than a HC role, though.
