How do you know we are not going to give him a second interview?

Sounds so awkward...  One of the main 2 or 3 guys performing the interviews needs to be fired before Hack or some of these guys would take the position.  How would you open yourself up during the process knowing that?

Lol ... how fitting.   My God, I now think Tom Petty was writing his songs about the Jags and Jags fans, not former girlfriends ....

Apparently Eberflus is scheduled for a second interview in Chicago too. Looks like he's popular.

The possible, not probable exception, is if Matt Eberflus takes the approach that Mike Tomlin did when he became Steelers HC in 2007.  Tomlin's coaching background was  4-3 based Tampa Two.  Dick LeBeau, the highly successful Steelers DC under Bill Cowher,  was a pioneer in the 3-4 Zone Blitz scheme.   Tomlin decided to keep LeBeau,  wanting to see what would transpire in the 2007 season.

As it turned out,  it was a great decision.   Under Mike  Tomlin, Dick LeBeau's based scheme is still in place today, with the Steelers coming off their 15th straight non-losing season.

He's an extremely impressive person by everyone who matters account. It's not a surprise to me at all that he interviews very well. I want the offensive HC like everyone else, but if Eberflus winds up getting the job I think he will do it very well.

Depending on who he gets for the OC job.

I'll do my best to get behind any of the HCs hired (now that it appears it's not BoB) but right now, I want Leftwich.

He's also one of the few coaches not in the playoffs. They may not need 2nd round interviews for the unemployed coaches either.

Yup you can't do 2nd interviews with coaches still in the Playoffs. So even if they want to, they can't bring Leftwich or Hackett in for a 2nd yet. Will have to wait for their teams to be eliminated.

Go Rams! Go 49ers!
Thing is, who are the guys saying good interview? Balke and Kahn, right? Those two hold the hiring decision.

The rumours of good interviews must be coming from the coaches’s managers who would each want to keep the noise concerning their guy positive. Or else it’s coming via Chinese whispers out of the Jags, but if Kahn and Balke are deciding what a good interview is then I put little value in the assessment.

Either way, who knows?
I’m calling it now. It’s going to be Byron.

He should keep Cullen when he is hired.

My top option would be Fangio at DC but wouldn’t mind Cullen as a backup option.

The Jaguars requested first interviews with 10 people.  Only 3 of those people (Leftwich, Hackett and Bowles) are still involved in the playoffs.  Has the list been narrowed to four candidates?  I know it's still possible that additional people will be invited for a second interview, but if so, why hasn't that happened yet?  How long does it really take to schedule an interview with someone who isn't actively coaching?

Ring ring.
Jaguars:  Are you available to interview on Friday?
Candidate:  Yes.  I'm also available Saturday, Sunday and all of next week.  Oh, I'm actually available tomorrow too.
Jaguars:  See you Friday at 9am.

 Something that happens every year:

Fans assume that they have complete info on every candidate and every interview based on limited reports, leaks, and rumors when there is ALWAYS more happening behind the scenes than we are actually privy to.

It's almost certain they have interviewed candidates we are unaware of and it's close to a certainty we don't know their intentions on the second round of interviews.

Looking more and more likely.

If Woody Paige is correct this time around, Nathaniel Hackett impressed Broncos GM George Paton during his HC interview with the Broncos.
