Watch the hire come out of left field. Mike McDaniel from San Francisco or Jerod Mayo from New England.

How sure are we that Byron will accept the job if we offer it to him in a few weeks?

Being that the Bears interviewed Byron for their HC opening and also have an opening for their GM position, there's plenty of uncertainty what Byron would do if both the Jaguars and Bears make HC offers to him.

Another x factor is whether Byron would stay with the Bucs, if he believes he will eventually replace Bruce Arians as their HC?

Probably the worst one out of all lol.

I guess Khan is doing this because he liked seeing Trevor having a career day against his defense.

@Trevor will look like A.A. Ron in every practice!!!!!!1!!!1@

I guess it all depends on how he views Trevor right? I've seen some lists that have the Jags opening as the #1 spot due to Trevor and cap space. I've seen the Jags as the 2nd worst (ahead of Houston) opening. If he views Trevor the same as a lot of other people, then my guess is he would accept it over all the rest.
Watch us hire Eberflus, not get Dodds, and then Eberflus gets rid of Cullen lulz

Hate to break it to ya, but whoever the new coach is, he's likely going to bring in his own staff.
Eberflus is a 4-3 guy as far as I can tell so even before the obvious that he'd want his own people I don't see how it could work with Cullen.

It depends, if we bring in a defensive coach I'd say it's almost a given Cullen is gone.  If we bring in a offensive coach I say it's at least a 50/50 chance he stays.  These guys seen what Cullen did with this defense.  Was pretty much the only bright spot other than Trevor's last game

Why are you discrediting all the work Eberflus has done with the Colts defense over the last few years? Because of 1 game against the Jags in week 18?

Should we take that same logic with the Bills and Daboll? They only managed 2 field goals against the Jags.....
As Tom Petty sang, "The way-ay-tin' is the hardest part".

You never wanted Eberflus and didn't like the idea of bringing in a defensive coach until Upper said Eberflus was his top guy lol, then all of a sudden Eberflus would be a good get.  I think that defense has underperformed under Eberflus with all the talent they have.  When people bring up his accomplishments the think hes good because of what he did at Missouri lol.  I'd take a Cullen ran defense over a Eberflus defense any day.  Lol on the Daboll comment.  Daboll has helped turn Josh Allen into one of the best QBs in the league when some, including yourself thought he was a horrible QB coming in to the draft and in college.  Daboll has 5 SBs while being an assistant under BB, won a championship as an assistant coach under Nick Saban, won assistant coach of the year award, and has been in the NFl now for over 20 years.  Daboll has learned under arguably the 2 best NFL coaches of all time and McDermott who's a very good coach.  Lol at comparing Daboll to Eberflus

He also sang "even the losers get lucky sometimes" so we still have hope.

I said Eberflus was my favorite of the defensive guys, not my top guy overall. That hasn't changed based off one game either. I hope we get Byron, but if we don't Eberflus shouldn't make anyone mad.

Sigh. This again.

I'm not saying that Eberflus is a good get or that I even want him. But under Eberflus, they have been a top 10 defense. They were 2nd in the league this year in takeaways. That same Colts defense absolutely dismantled Daboll and the Bills. To discredit all the work he's done because he had a bad week 18 is a little farfetched. And if you take that same logic (one bad game changes your view) then it should be applied to Daboll when the Bills put up 6 points against a team that gave up 27 a game.

Again. Not saying I want Eberflus but let's look at the bigger picture here instead of being a prisoner of the moment. I would choose Daboll over Eberflus if I had to make the choice between the two but that has more to do with him developing Allen than maybe how he would be as a HC.
After reading a bit about Eberflus he sounds like a really good coach BUT, I want an offensive guy. It is the best thing for Trevor (and for the franchise).

Although maybe

Eberflus
Caldwell OC/Assistant HC
Dodds

I would be ok with that.

16th in yards given up.  Turnovers don't matter like yards given up, remember?  We just had this conversation, about Winston, now it's a big deal and more important, lmao.  You keep bringing up week 18, where did I say I don't want him because of week 18?  I said he wouldn't be good hire before Trevor had a career day against his defense.  Dabolls offense just went 7 drives, 7 scores against BB defense

Dude you're arguing in circles.

Eberflus was hired by Josh McDaniel, and when Reich met him, he immediately kept him.  He's said to be another strong leader and his players love him.

I think something a LOT of people are forgetting is that being a HC is not the same as being a coordinator.  He'll be involved, but the defense won't live or die based on him.

Gus Bradley was also a strong leader and the players loved him as well.  A HC is not the same as being a coordinator which is why I want Doug Pederson out of all the coaches rumored or someone that has been around this league along time and learned under some of the best coaches ever like Daboll.  I'd rather Cullen over this defense than I would Eberflus.  With all that said I don't think he will be the coach
I’m honestly extremely disappointed that we didn’t schedule Jim Caldwell for a second interview.
