Bevell seems like a great guy, very upbeat without being a rah rah guy, and he would certainly have a calming effect on any team he coaches.  But he's an average OC at best, and that's with talented players.  Legion of Boom was the reason that Seattle team did as well as they did.

Lol .... gotta love that calming effect that Bevell had in New England.  That may have been the most calm team that I have ever seen as they trailed 50-3.  Definitely no sign of panic throughout that entire game.

Sometimes being calm and comatose look the same to the outside observer.

Have you seen what Miami fans think of Flores? No thanks

Hi Brian, here’s another thought: maybe you weren’t hired because you are not an innovative offensive coach. Or maybe going through several coordinators in a few years marked you as being combative. But pull the race card when you know you’ll never be a HC again. That’s what Kap did when he realized defensive coordinators figured him out and he’d never start again.

He'd probably bench and never speak to Lawrence.
That certainly was a stumble, but weren't we missing 22 players due to covid? It's tough enough to beat the Pats in Foxboro, but having a roster that depleted certainly put them behind the 8-ball.
You have to remember too that the team was still a byproduct of Meyer and Baalke and the remaining staff was tasked with getting the most it could out of it. You don't just snap your fingers and instantly have a team that meshes with your philosopies. It takes time.
Can we stop quoting the Bevell lover and just let them go back to looking at his picture all day. They could also just go tell him directly no Jag fan wants him as coach and he should go take a job at Alabama to try and become a HC or OC again.

It breaks the ignore feature when you quote them.

Quite impressed with yourself when you say you speak for all Jags fans.

Name one who disagrees.

I remember reading a post from one of your regulars who put things in perspective. He/she said the overwhelming majority of the fanbase doesn't want to delve into the particulars of the team. They just want to be entertained snd enjoy the social comforts of a pro sporting event. But they pay for their tickets and buy their concessions and merchandise just like the most fervent diehard fan.
There are a few of those zealots right here amongst us. The in-depth is what draws us here.
But we are not the majority, rather a trickle. If presented with Bevell as the new coach, most would just shake their heads and say "let's see what ya got." And it's my belief he'd show them what they want.
Y'all have really let one troll ruin the entire message board. For the love of god please ignore him.
To try to steer it back on topic: in the last two days we have heard Taylor, MJD, Darius, Uche, Scobee, and Ace Sanders (and maybe more that I missed) all call for Baalke to get fired. That seems pretty crazy to me, I don't ever recall so many former players of a team call for an employee to be fired. I would love to think that Shad is noticing this alumni revolt.

Ace Sanders? Dannnggg....I haven't heard that name in years. Thanks for the flashback.
Lol, I thought about not including him since he wasn't exactly on the same level as those other dudes, but I'm all about piling on Baalke.

Yeah, I mean, at least he is showing he cares about the team. I am sure plenty of ex-Jags don't give a [BLEEP].

In that case you've also got Austen Lane, Tom McManus, and of course, Byron Leftwich.
