No, in the start of his career he needs a head coach that will insure continuity in scheme moving forward.

....Like the tacks have had to do the past couple of seasons? Lafleur and Smith were OCs promoted up to HC, Henry and Tannehill still appear to be playing just fine. Rodgers didn't turn into Gabbert when Joe Philbin was hired away as his QB coach.

If we have some success to that level, it's probably safe to say that TLaw done developed. At that point you're just relying on an OC that can call a gameplan that is going to work against that week's opponent and less on the player growth side of the equation.

Heck, I look forward to the day when our coaches are a hot commodity!

Tannehill 2021 TD/INT 15/14

That's the guy you want to see Trevor look like?

I don't think you should go that far. I think they should clean house, hire a GM, and let that person pick the coach who should then hire the assistants. Fire Baalke today and let's get started.

That's what they did for the 2013 season. Khan fired Gene Smith, hired Dave as GM and then Dave decided to fully clean house and he's who fired Mularkey etc.
Welp. Baalke being retained.

NOT A GOOD START.

Only thing is good at is sucking as an owner. Jeez more ACL tears for everyone.

No reason to keep Baalke. Then again there was no reason to keep him last year, and instead we promoted him. R.I.P. Trevor Lawrence's career.

If this is true, I'm done with this team. I can't take the incompetence anymore. If Khan is clueless enough to keep the guy that is ruining this team, then they will no longer have my support. I'm tired of rooting for a losing team that can't even get out of it's own way. Retaining Baalke would mean more dysfunction and more terrible draft picks. How could a person be so completely inept at his job and still be retained?
[BLEEP] me!

I said UM needed to be fired ASAP and he was.  Like we all knew that needed to be done.  It was a matter of whether Urbs got the rest of the year or not.  I was surprised Khan actually made it happen sooner than later.

If this is true, I’m shocked, let down and was wrong in posting not to worry about this.

I think this is a huge mistake.  Good luck.  Hard to have excitement or enthusiasm for the next year.  What a let down.

Only bright side I can see is if they’re looking to hire Doug Pederson early and he’s on board with bowky.
The only way it makes any sense is if he's not going to be the one calling the shots, and it'll be Tony or the coach they hire running the show, again.

GM by committee. That has proven successful for us in the past.

Then why keep him at all?
Khan is a terrible owner
Well let's look forward to 2 years of the Baalke/Bevell show. That's where things look right now. Gotta hire from within, because why make good decisions?
The majority of this is probably Tony. Daddy buying him AEW wasn't enough to keep him away. Worst owner family in NFL history. I am astounded this dude ever made the moves necessary to become a billionaire.

Yeah, I'm bracing for the Bevell and Baalke show.
Maybe Baalke will be a blind squirrel and make a good HC hire, but I doubt it. I don't trust that man's judgement about anything.

I was all excited for the team's future. Khan will get the message when season ticket sales tank.

Nobody with any clout wants to work for him. Have you seen the stories about him in SF as a leaker? He already pulled the same thing here.

Our HC hire will be awful if Khan keeps him around. Criss off any senior guys like Doug or Caldwell.
