If Khan is going for a clean sweep, he needs to get rid of Baalke now to at least signal to HC candidates that they'll be stepping into a changed atmosphere.

I haz a worry.

Though I don’t remember where I saw/read or heard it, I thought I saw something saying Khan wasn’t going to look into the HC opening until 2022.  Sucks since they can interview earlier this year.  But at the same token, indicates that other changes could be made.  To be honest, after this fiasco, I don’t see how Khan can keep Baalke.  I’d be most disappointed if he kept him around.  I’d even be shocked.  Khan has made many mistakes.  But he made the right decision with Meyer way earlier than anyone of us expected.  I’d hold off on worrying about Baalke sticking around.

I’ll eat my crow if I’m wrong. But I’m personally not too worried whatsoever about him sticking

I hope they don't start interviewing anyone right now. There is no rush. Wait for the season to end, fire Baalke, hire a new GM, and let them pick the next coach.

I wouldn’t say there’s a rush but you don’t want someone else snatching your top candidates.

Raiders are also looking for a new coach. And most likely the Bears too. Add in possible openings like Vikings, Seattle, NYG, Carolina and you got some competition for the top GM and HC openings.
If we are restricting the list to those who are either not currently under contract to a team, or those who are currently coordinators:

My first choice would be Doug Pederson. Recently coached the Eagles to a Super Bowl win. Played QB in the NFL. Played and coached under Andy Reid. Has developed a QB in Carson Wentz. Well versed in the WCO-a QB friendly scheme.

I go back and forth on the coordinators.

Leftwich-played QB on the NFL level. Has been a part of two Super Bowl winning teams (Steelers and Bucs). Exposure to two Super Bowl winning coaches (Tomlin and Arians). Believes in attacking downfield. I don't think he would be accepted here.

Brian Daboll-his seeming disregard for the running game is a concern, but I love the way he has developed Josh Allen. Made him more accurate (which seems to be an issue with TL) and gave him much more surrounding talent (which is an issue with the Jaguars).

Kellen Moore-really like what he has done in Dallas. Another former QB...helped develop Dak Prescott

Eric Bienemy-Been around the league a long time as a former player and assistant coach. Versed in many systems, including Andry Reid's WCO. As the first non QB, can he develop TL? His coordinators will be of utmost importance.

If we are talking about current head coaches under contract elsewhere....

Sean Payton-Has succeeded at the highest level, Won a Super Bowl as a head coach and developed Brees. Coached under Bill Parcells.

Mike Zimmer-Very good coach. Defensive guy. Coordinator choice would be important. Currently has gary Kubiak, who would be a good choice to help develop TL-assuming his health holds up.

Nice options. My question is, if we take one of the OC's or even Pederson, do you want a new GM coming from the same organization like say Borgonzi from KC if it's Bieniemy or even Pederson since he came from Reid?

Great question.

I would be tempted to say yes immediately, since presumably they would know each other, would know the personnel requirements, etc.  But I would also want the guy with the best eye for talent.  That person may or may not come from the same organization.

Meanwhile, relationships can be built.
Why wouldn’t Leftwich be accepted here? Personally I’d love him or Jim Caldwell.

BL would not be accepted now for many of the same reasons he was hated when he was here before.

People hated him for the way he spoke.  People hated him for the way he wore his hats.  People would hate him for his mechanics (if he had poor mechanics then, what could he teach TL about his mechanics now and in the future?).  People literally complained because he shot off fireworks on the 4th of July.

The only saving grace is that before, he was following a very popular QB here in Brunell.  Now, he would follow a very unpopular and unsuccessful coach in UM.

As I prepared to answer this, it dawned on me the things/sentiments I describe happened some eighteen plus (18+) years ago.

Yeesh I'm old!
I mean if Sean Payton becomes available, Khan would be remiss not to open up his checkbook and tell him "Write a number."

It’s a wayyyyyyy different age. It shouldn’t have been acceptable then and sure isn’t now.

If he can coach, he’ll get his due. I bet he can, and I also bet he can relate to todays players extremely well and lure some free agents.
I'm warming to the idea of Leftwich. He has had some great mentors. However, McDaniels or Pederson to me would seem to have a higher percentage chance of success to truly turn things around here.

I say this, as they have already been head coaches, and have more experience to draw from.

I'm in this boat as well.

This.
Caldwell would probably be my guy if it wasn’t for age

Caldwell feels like a Jeff Fisher, Jack Del Rio, Marvin Lewis type of hire. A guy who will be consistently mediocre.

It's a start. I'll take 9 - 8 right now with a few play off appearances consistently. Sign me up.

We’ve won 3 games the past two years. He had a winning record with the LIONS, I’ll take that.

Don't be too sure.

There was a lot of antipathy towards Leftwich when he was here.  There was more hatred towards him than any other Jaguars' QB.

I would say Urban Meyer is the only Jaguar more despised by the fanbase.
