The only issue I have with Leftwich is he hasn't done it before. If you bring Leftwich in, he needs a strong DC and he needs someone like Caldwell, Dungy, etc to be there to be his sounding board. Someone to help him out but also not someone trying to undermine him to take his job.

So then you wouldn't have signed any of the others that I mentioned?  They had never 'done it before' either.  I guess you could exclude Kingsbury if you're counting college coaching experience, which was a losing record.
I would go after Zimmer if we want a defensive mind HC.

HC = Zimmer
DC = Cullen
OC = Schottenheimer

You are kidding, right? Wow...

No but with the Jags, Khan has fallen for the hot coordinator before and it was terrible. The Jags can't fail with this hire. It has too be right or the team is done. So need to ensure any coach who hasn't been a HC before has all the support they need to get it right.

Zimmer is a 4-3 guy who doesn't emphasize a lot of blitzing.

Cullen is a 3-4 guy with all kinds of wild blitzes.

Would they be compatible?

Nope. Should just hire Marvin Lewis if that's what folks want. At least Marvin had better showings on offense as a coach.

Head coach.. young offensive play caller.. leftwitch or Moore

D coach Cullen retained please

O coach head coach
Flores is now my guy. What he did with Miami when they were in the gutter is quite impressive, with a guy like Tua no less. Give me him and maybe he keeps Cullen or brings in his guys idc, dude can coach with less. He'd be a great add and he's young.

Probably the only defensive coach I'd be ok with.

Well, they fired him for some rather...Urbanesque reasons.
I see Bevell is going to interview for the HC job - I could see that if he's willing to bow at the alter of Baalke.

I really, really want an offensive minded coach who can develop TLAW.

Considering the cheapness of the owner, Marvin Lewis did a pretty good job with the Bengals
we might as well stop fooling ourselves. we al know Khan will keep Trent,and hire bill o brian as jags next head coach.
I got a notification from NFL. I skimmed it but I think it said Nathaniel Hacket was going to interview
Meanwhile back at the jags message board.... the fans are reasonably optimistic while the colts fans are somewhat depressed. Who would have thought the colts season and the jags would end the same way. Watching the play offs.

I was wondering if Shad saw enough out of the team since Urban was sent packing to look at a year of status quo. They looked good Sunday, and the guys seem to be putting in work for the coaches, but I don't know if I want to risk another year of stagnation if these aren't the coaches you see taking the team to deep postseason runs in the coming years.

That HAS to be the goal. Maximize the QB performance while he's affordable.
I would retain Cullen as the DC.

HC options Caldwell, Daboll, and Moore. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to keep Bevell as HC. As long as he does not get involved with the playcalling on offense.

OC....How about Mark Brunell? He's the current QB coach in Detroit.

I dunno. But, this will be fun to watch how this plays out.

If we keep Bevell then there will be nothing fun about next year. The last time we looked as good as Sunday was week one last season against the same team.
Just read a couple articles about how unhappy the Dolphin players are about Flores' firing.

Funny, I don't recall Jags players talking that way about Urbz.

People were saying similar things about Mike Vrabel when the Titans interviewed/hired him. All hes did is lead that team to 3 straight playoff appearances and he's definitely this year's Coach of the Year.
