What more do you want?

Does he make mistakes?  Yeah.

So what?

He's in his 3rd year, and he's leading an offense with suspect O-Line and suspect play-calling.  What more can we ask for.  You pay Trevor what he wants, you give Trevor a % ownership.  And you hope to god he can stay focused enough to play for another 18 years.

Trevor Lawrence is great.  Great players make mistakes.  Trevor Lawrence isn't GOAT.  But I don't care.  There are only so many GOATS.  I just want 18 more years of this and a SB or two...  For a franchise as trash as ours to finally figure it out, what more can you ask for?

And in that regard Mahomes and Allen currently lead the NFL with 8ints each. Even the best of the best make mistakes.

Trevor is the [BLEEP] man. I don’t care if he doesn’t have the MVP caliber stats. Currently on the longest win streak in the NFL.
Mahomes is missing Tyreek Hill

He literally won a SB last year without him hahaha
He had some truly elite throws (like usual) today in the rain.

The turnover is whatever but it’s those 2nd window throws that will always give me the confidence that Trevor is that dude. I’ll be curious to see how often he was pressured today against the Steelers and how he fared.

He got sacked three times within a quarter and a half I think. He's getting used to it.

Can't wait for Little and Jones to get back inside the line up though.

And he has one of the best olines in the league.  It makes me sick at the time he has in the pocket every time i watch KC play. That KC defense and Kelce is why they are 6-2
Trev is always reppin throwback Jags gear lol. Time to have a throwback game for the fans and Trev.

Even elite quarterbacks have bad plays or bad games. Did you see Mahomes’ performance today?

Once again, that interview shows that the Jags made the correct choice, unlike the Jets.

I have always wondered about that moniker.  What good or great QB is NOT a game manager? LOL

A "game manager" QB is just that. He's a Jimmy G, Derek Carr, Minshew, etc. A guy who isn't going to lose the game generally, but also isn't going to be the GUY and go win the game for you.

Trevor is THE GUY. That 3rd down stat line shows that. Chargers playoff game shows that.

I was just poking fun at the guy who has been calling him that lately.

But - yeah - it is literally a major aspect of his job.
Trevor is clearly more than just a game manager - I just find it funny that a few folks are still bent on pegging him to some mid tier category or descriptor.

My guilty pleasure is rubbing their noses in his achievements from time to time.

We're 6 - 2. A lot of that has to do with him not just managing the game well but also elevating his play when it matters the most. He's been doing it since last year. As long as we keep providing this kid with adequate offensive line play and quality starters he'll continue to elevate his play.

I said it in the gameday thread yesterday. He's starting to get used to playing under duress now with pressure hovering by him and he's not shy about taking the hits to hang in there and make the big time plays. He did it in London against the Bills. He did it again yesterday. He showed he was willing to run on a gimpy knee against New Orleans.

This team is lucky to have him. He's still nowhere near his ceiling in my opinion.
It seems like nobody is noticing that Trevor completed 75% of his passes yesterday, for almost 300 yards, and went 9 of 9 on 3rd down. Everyone wants to talk about Etienne, and the defense. But outside of that one boneheaded play on the goal line, Trevor had a really good day.

You are right.

I literally just posted his 3rd down stats in this very thread, but besides that, you are right. The media narrative is focused more on ETN offensively.

The alternative is frightening.  If we pass on him or somehow don't wind up with the 1st overall pick that year, we likely keep Minshew at least another year and perhaps draft one of the other QBs from Trevor's class, of which none are appealing.  If we don't go QB that year, then we either reach for Pickett or Ridder the following year or wait and take our chances with a rookie from the current class.  All of it sounds like puke by comparison with the exception of CJ, but I don't think he'll ever be as good as Trevor despite the great start to his career.
