Yea, I liked seeing that fire, also. Any word on Kirk yet?

Take a step back and see what happens.

I hope Rourke plays but we know Doug won't do that. He should be playing Rourke, unless he sucks and then why is he on the roster (he isn't Trevor's friend like CJ). CJ showed once the prevent defense was off, that he couldn't move the ball. I'm guessing Doug looks at the film and says CJ did a great job throwing the ball to wide open WRs in the middle of the field. Then he will watch the long lucky pass and say that was great.

The Browns will blitz him like crazy and CJ will be lucky to survive the game. Press is going to get schooled.
Stop exaggerating preseason play.

If Rourke truly was better than CJ, he would be playing. But he's not.

Kenny Pickett was amazing in the preseason and then look what happened.

That’s good in selective doses. It has to be applied carefully or it backfires. He also has to be keenly aware of the difference between bad play and lack of talent. Yelling at players lacking talent only makes them worse. Unfortunately, that is more the culprit now.

I think he's mature enough to handle it accordingly. He's usually quiet and humble but when he does decide to speak up in anger? I bet people shut up and listen carefully.

We'll see what happens. All I know is that, the offseason needs to be dedicated towards fixing his protection and creating running lanes for Etienne more consistently or this team will routinely be going through this schtick like the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys have been doing now for a few years.

Failure to build the trenches is killing this team's hopes and dreams game by game. This was the one year where they should have had a chance to turn some heads potentially in the play-offs. Because it's been up and down across the conference.

Next year? I don't think we'll see anything like this again. I could see two, three teams really running away with the conference. Hoping we're one of them. But, that doesn't happen unless the line improves for him.
According to Gene Frenette, Shad and Tony Khan, along with Trent Baalke, had a visit with Trevor in front of his locker when he was brought in from the field. One would hope the urgency of getting some protection upfront was discussed afterwards amongst the brain trust. If not, god help Trevor.

He needs a stronger Center, Scherff replacement, and a competent LT

I think at this point we may even retain Cam given how weak Little seems to be.

The season isn't over. We're still in a good spot and our destiny is in our hands. It's going to take a huge team effort to keep us in this until/if Trevor comes back.

I hope this can be a rallying moment for the team for the next few games but it's going to be tough. Just don't want to see such a good season crumble quickly.

And can we find whatever stuff the Chiefs gave Mahomes in the playoffs when he had the ankle sprain?

The helmet toss was unrelated. It was a show of disgust for the off-brand hair conditioner his wife bought by accident.

“You want to see sprained? Look at my follicles!”

He’ll be fine with a volumizer and detangler treatment.

You would think Marissa would know this by now. Why is she messing with things like this? Guy was on primetime!

I'd heard some rumours Press had told a joke through the mic Trevor didn't find funny.

I've said for a long time that signs have been prettly clear that coaching staff aren't all tthat high on Little. Remember, he's the guy that's being moved around. He's not a clear starter in their eyes.

All the more reason Baalke needs to go then, or, again, another layer of reporting, direction and final say needs to be added above his head to ensure all parties involved are adequately doing the right thing for their most important investment that they were fortunate to land to begin with.

Very possible he's being "moved around" because he has a speck of versatility while others do not.

He's played like a speck here and there, that's for sure. Speckled dick injured our QB last night. Can't stand hearing his voice now on the radio. "Kingfish pest control takes care of all of my pest control needs".

[BLEEP] you Walker! [BLEEP] you! You're a pest now! Why didn't you take care of our QB? OUR NEEDS!?!?!?!?

LOL. Jk. [BLEEP] happens. The entire offensive line needs to be revamped. They all suck as far as I am concerned.

Hopefully they paid attention when the D was on the field. Maybe Press can ask Zac for a few pages from their playbook, quick looks, short passes and screens are perfect remedy for blitzes and the expected pressure from their rush.

And I'm an Ohio Bobcat, I will say unless something changed over the past few weeks in practice, we're better off with CJB out there. This is a major leap up from CanadiaBall or week 1 preseason. The line is poop, and the opposing Ds we will be facing do their feasting against the pass. That's a miserable combo to drop a wide-eyed kid into.
Best case scenario is CJ beats Cleveland, Hou and Indy both lose giving us a 2 game buffer again and Trevor isn’t forced back in for the Ravens if he isn’t ready.

I loved me some Rourke in preseason, but I’m not throwing him out there for his first career start against the #1 defense.

I would disagree. His lack of success as guard is telling. He couldn't play at right tackle either. His problem is that even though he's decent at left tackle Cam is better.

I would say that it's possible that the coaching staff thinks Little is more versatile but that's on them, isn't it? Equally possible that they're trying to get Little on the field 'cause they think the interior is too weak but that's their fault too, isn't it? Or at least the GM's fault.

It still doesn't change that coaches think Little is worse than Cam either.

Meh

He's a LT who they tried elsewhere and that didn't work.

Cam is a decent run blocking LT and a subpar pass protecting LT who literally can't play anywhere else. Like, at all.
So they both lack versatility in the end. They thought they had some versatility in Little, but they were wrong.

The consensus among the three former Jags linemen who watch Little and comment on him is that he protects a bit better than Cam does, but Cam run blocks better than Little.

What we need is someone who can do both better than both of them have so far. If Little doesn't prove to be that guy in the coming weeks, then we have even more work to do this offseason.
Rewatching the game...

It's pretty clear that Lawrence is not happy with Press Tayolor's play calling...

Lawrence is willing this team to wins in spite of such terrible OC management.

The TD throw to Parker was amazing. But that entire drive was full of Lawrence upset and showing it. Go back and look at that drive. Lawrence was not happy with the play calls and the execution. But he threw a dime and Parker caught it.

We have a great QB, we have a terrible OC and a terrible O-Line.

Beathard played fine. He knows the WC inside and out. He’s definitely prone to hit check downs. Maybe not as much as Henne used to be. But he can run the offense.
