The 2016 group was Kelven Beacham who was average, he lasted on a few more teams after that season along with Patrick Omameh, Linder, AJ Cann who never really developed, and Jeremy Parnell. The 2017 group of CamRob, Omameh, Linder, Trash Cann and Parnell was pretty good. That was pretty much the same group the next year when they added Norwell. Those lines weren't bad, Norwell wasn't equal to his contact so he gets criticism, but the whole line together was above average.

Now, Trevor is eons more talented then both of these QBs combined, however you can't look at TL's turnover problems and his inability to navigate a clean pocket consistently as non issues. He has problems to work out, he's not a sure thing by any stretch.

Clean pocket... LOL

WHAT??

He gets a clean pocket on what, 3 snaps each game??

You have to be kidding. He normally has ZERO pocket to navigate much less a clean one.

And those are the only times he looked great.

No.

Not really. He's played amazing football... for one or two plays. Not once has he played consistently

Hes... just not great. Hes... good.

He doesn't need to be perfect 24/7 but it would be nice if he could be more consistent overall.

Hopefully we get the line worked out this off season so we can truely see what we have this season in terms of our QB.

I mean my goodness … on tank dells two deep balls they were complete busts ! No safety in the middle of the field corner outside leverage so he can just run a skinny post and completely get behind the defense ? Are we serious? And the TD what the heck have we never played a bunch set before ?

Multiple other receivers with no one in the vicinity and 0 pressure on a Backup o line ?

Watch stroud will end up looking like every other rookie QB for most of the rest of the year ….

We just managed to make a game so easy for a rookie it looked like he was playing against Rutgers when he was at Ohio state…

Pathetic .

Heads need to roll for this . At least figure out who wants to man up and do their fricking jobs . What these grown men are getting paid to sticking do .

He shouldn't need to be perfect 24/7, but it's been proven that if he isn't damn near perfect 24/7 this team loses. The rest of the team struggles to pick up the slack if Trevor makes a couple mistakes.

Hes definitely got to get some of those fumbles under control though. Work on the grip strength during the off season or something, but the ball control has got to get better.

My definition of franchise qb must be different than yours. We have a guy who had potential to be that, he has not proven anything yet.

Your definition of "obvious" is what's different than normal people's.

I agree he has the potential, and I'm pretty sure he will fulfill that potential if we fix our offensive line.  I think he was derailed in 2023 by the lack of a running game, inconsistent pass protection, and injuries to himself which led to a lack of practice time in the latter half of the season.

I feel like this should be common sense by now. Especially for this fanbase that watched the team play week in and week out. Said it many times. Not only the one as well. However, the downward spiral last season when Little got bullied backwards onto Lawrence's ankle.

He was never the same after that injury and he began compensating and over working himself at the expense of getting injured in other key areas, such as, the HEAD INJURY with the concussion, and then, in my opinion, the final deathblow to the season, his throwing shoulder being sprained.

I blame him to some extent. I admire the hell out of his toughness and his willingness to work through injuries. However, that's a gift and a curse sometimes to your own detriment or team's detriment. I referenced earlier this year and late last year. I think Houston got it right by forcing Stroud to sit out two weeks after his concussion.

We'll never know now. The only solace we can find though in this outcome for us, is that, we at least got beat by competent teams that had play-off's on the line as well, just bitter we allowed our longstanding divisional rival to pull a reverse uno card in the final week of the season. Not only a reverse uno card, but, it was seemingly a curtain call for Vrabel, Henry and Tannehill there.

That stings the most.

Can't say I think he will fulfill the potential or not, what he's done so far has not really given me that feeling. But we can hope.
He sucks @$$ in Madden compared to what he was earlier in the season now.. can confirm. I don't think he has done enough to warrant being a long-term franchise QB but we are the Jaguars.

Need to see him play consistently good football before i'd even consider an extension. We need to see him behind a better line and see if the same issues still rear their head or not.

Agreed! Give him all the tools he needs to succeeds. If he fails it is on him. I am 50/50 on Lawrence. I want him to become that dude. Time will tell if he does.

You apparently dont know what a clean pocket is. Stepping up is a clean pocket too. Are you implying that he has 3 snaps that is clean pocket all game?

Yes actually.

I'm not sure exactly what this arguement is about...  But Trevor Lawrence was 8-3 with the same O-Line we had  from the start of the season.

The O-Line was bad this year.  It was just as bad last year.

We wound up just a pathetic, except that last year we had the HC calling plays that made a difference.  This year we had an assistant that has no idea how to develop an offense.

You're both right.  But there was something else that resulted in our stagnation.

I mean, just think about the Fumbling!!!  Trevor was a fumbling machine last year.  You'd think an OC would focus on making sure that his QB cleans that up...  Eh... Naw, it's fine, under Pederson and Press.

I think he has more than enough weapons, just need that OL fixed up and we will see. 2024 will be the year we find out what we truely have. I had hope we'd find out this past season but it's too hard to judge it because of the line.
