But but but... I need to see more before I give him the money!

Elite. Just an elite throw. Apparently Ridley said the original play was a run play and Trevor audibled to that. I love he has the confidence to change the play to that and then make the throw. Putting the team on him and he wants to win the game. He was incredible yesterday and as the Bills started to get rolling, he put us on his back and refused to let us lose.

I have this fantasy that Trevor's going to say, okay, give me 6 years, $300 million, with $200 million guaranteed.  Done.

But probably what will happen is his agent will want to make a name for himself by squeezing the last drop of blood he can get in a very long negotiation.

He also trusts Ridley to make that play. That's a big time play from the receiver too, and it looks like Ridley got the rust off now. It helps that he plays angry and the DBs went and woke up the Hulk.

Highly doubt it will be a long negotiation but do agree he will want a lot of money and rightfully so. Get the money when you can.

And pay the money while it's less.
Trevor's new pet. Add some horseshoes to it after a victory over the clots this Sunday. [Image: e960df7c757a2b43a8c0369ef49dba03.jpg]

Converting on third down sure does change things, huh?

Trevor is becoming adept at putting himself at risk to throw downfield.
It is both amazing and scary as hell.
I really hope he can stay healthy this season.

Dan with some hyperbole there. TLaw made plays in that playoff game last year that were on a far bigger stage with far more import. But yes, it was a beautiful play and I hope we see more like it other than adding in having him untouched by the rush.

There absolutely is, and he is not(laughable tbh), but carry on. He is good, he plays well. He's a fun QB, who plays really well between the 20s. All great qualities.

Watching tape on Trevor is truly a treat. A lot to like, there's also several areas that clearly need improvement. He has glaring weaknesses.

He needs to learn how to slow down his reads a tick and not put it on the ground when he's hit in the pocket. He tends to play hero ball at times when he should just live for another down. Example - when he tried to throw it in the grasp and it looked like a greased pig on the fumble, I couldn't help but facepalm in disbelief. Just secure it and go down, this is still too frequent in his game. His redzone is still very shaky, he still misses guys and starts to press/rush down in the redzone. Still misreads the easy stuff underneath at times.

The dart to Zay was a good throw and on time(not a thing Trevor has done this year often in the redzone) so that's promising.

If he can fix the reads/see the field a tad better/refine the pocket presence he CAN be elite. Better blocking would certainly help. I think all of Trevor's problems are minor. When you compound them though, you see his game suffer. I really hope by the end of the year some of the hiccups we've seen are a thing of the past. He's still on pace for a 17 Td season, not exactly impressive but if the Jags keep winning I wouldn't really complain.

Yeah that punch to the back got him angry. I agree with you about Ridley. He's a top receiver and when you have him one on one with no safety help, he's going to win that battle a lot more than not. Lawrence definitely has faith in him and is trying to get him involved. Ridley looked in shape but he's not starting to look football ready and you can only do that playing games.

It's encouraging to see it starting to click and Ridley, Kirk, Zay and Engram getting targets. Can't wait to see what they are looking like by week 12.
Forget the silly arguments over labeling him the E word.

Good read. Thanks for the post.

Definitely an approach that works with the modern athlete. Good on Kirk for having enough experience to hold a meeting of the minds.

As a fan sometimes we can think of players as gamers and automatons. Articles like this show their humanity.

Nice article.  I had to do a little trick to get it out from behind the pay wall.
On this play, I noticed that Ed Oliver got through because of confusion between Scherff and Fortner.  Scherff seems to think Fortner has Oliver, but Fortner goes to help out on the man on his left instead.    It's hard to understand why Scherff and Fortner did that.

Is there a single impressive throw from TLaw that doesn't involve him getting absolutely clobbered? I cringe every time I watch these replays because Trevor gets demolished every time. Our oline should be ashamed.

That's awesome. Might be good for some of the Press Taylor haters to read too.

This offense will be really special if they can retain most of the current talent and add two competent linemen to the front 5.

Fortner has been iffy, and Bartch is not a starter in the league. He has been god awful, like not even a respectable backup level. He has no business starting in the NFL. Dude gets pushed around like he's made of cardboard or something.

3rd and 4th round picks are early?

okie dokie.
