Trev bout to get us flexed for a night game against the 49ers tho..
Maybe you misheard it because it's literally not being reported anywhere.

One of the losses was to the Lions, a team that looks primed for a deep playoffs run and was in the middle of a surge when we played them, the other is the texans, but a real fan would have known that without me needing to tell them.

Didn't CJB play half of the Loins game, too? (not that CJB, the other CJB) Big Grin

We can play this game allllllll dayyyyyy long man. It's situational [BLEEP] football.

Your defense dictated the terms all day. Minshew had multiple turnovers on the day.

We were up 14 points with less than 4:00 minutes to go. Within easy FG range already to take a 17 point lead.

If his knee got blown up right there and he was carted off the field you would be heated.

So would the media. We got lucky in a situation we didn't need to put our QB in and we'll leave it at that.

Holy crap truth right here.

Eat the clock, smash mouth football. Heck at that point I was already calling for Beathard to be in and handing off for 3 downs. I had enough confidence in the D that I wasn't even worried about giving the ball back without additional points.

We have a short week, so I would have been SUUUUUUUUPER conservative when it comes to reps and fatigue/injury risk.

We got lucky.

But I get it.  Might as well run a crazy play, cuz, why not, right?

You must not have watched much NFL football if you thought it was over even at that point. In any case, it wasn’t a crazy play, it looked like they were trying to run another of the rollouts which they’ve run successfully before. Like Pederson said, you run that play a million times and it works, but at some point it doesn’t. That’s the one that gets second guessed.

I don’t know why you think Lawrence was hobbling before then.

given the state of our line "you run that play a million times and it works" is quite a stretch.

You run that play a million times and hold your dang breath.

Can they just hurry up and tell us how the MRI went? I'm sure he already had it done this AM
twitter blew up calling for Press to be fired for calling this play.
The video definitely showed the defender pulling and twisting Trevor's leg.
Like everyone else holding my breath and thinking after how much TL was beatup the last three games....might be best to start Beathard.
Trevor needs some time off.
It's time to tell you all the truth... CJB is just a coverup, I am indeed CJ Bethard and now it is my time to show my true colors this thursday night and blow the saints back out!!

lol jokes aside, hope Trevors okay.

Wait a second, I was informed by experts on this very board that he simply had his shoe fall off.  Are you spreading fake news?   Confused

I find this exchange post game very interesting. Because it honestly doesn't look good. Just looking at their body language and their faces. I would kill to be a fly on the wall there.

Even the [BLEEP] local guys were talking about this all morning. Just bad, situational awareness and football decisions there in the 4th quarter in a game that you had under control.

Again, you had a stupidly good lead and you're out there slinging it for no reason in the 4th. One drive led to an INT. The other drive led to his knee getting [BLEEP] up. It was an ugly win. Just like Garrard, Dempsey and Fat Tony said on the show today. Just like some of us said yesterday.

It's funny saying that with 37 points but Minshew played GOD AWFUL yesterday so there's that to be factored in.
I don't like getting too cute on 3rd and 7 there.
Could have been smarter.

Asking Pederson not to be aggressive is like asking a dog not to chase a cat though.

We begged for aggressiveness forever. Here's the back side of the blade I guess.

Pederson doesn't like sitting starters- he doesn't like pulling punches.
They should have seen the fake wasn't gonna work with the way the colts D lined up though.
Would've preferred they call a more basic play or check out of that one pre snap.

I bet TL Is fine and this blows over quickly
*shrug*
Doug: “What the hell was that?”

Press: “I call that my ‘One-in-a-million play.’”

Doug: “If Trevor’s knee is seriously hurt, I’ll kick your [BLEEP] and your chance of getting another job in the league will be one-in-a-million.”

Well this right here is a post I did not imagine I'd read today.

I like the aggressiveness when it makes sense. Being up by 14 points within McManus' range to go up by 17 points with 3:00 minutes and some change to spare, knowing that the defense absolutely got into Minshew's head was not the time to be aggressive.

It should have been run, run and then maybe consider a high percentage pass, quick hitter via an inside slant, drag or out route on 3rd downs and that was it.

The fact that we're now seeing CJ getting 1st team reps over that decision is frustrating. You just saw your QB get his [BLEEP] handed to him by Buffalo, hit twice, illegally, and you want to tempt fate there at home, with a lead?

Jesus take the wheel.

Literally the only reason people are butt hurt about this call is because Trevor might have hurt his knee. No one said anything about the play the other times it was being run. And an injury can happen any time.

People claiming the game was over must be the same people who were leaving at the end of the third quarter because they didn’t see the colts take over the momentum in the 4th. We weren’t moving the ball much at that point either (thankfully Agnew had his big return that set up the field goal). Stay aggressive. How many times have we heard complaints when past Jag coaches have gone conservative in that situation? Pederson said he wanted to put a stake through their hearts then and there and I agree 100%.

The point is, “plays that keep our QB from getting injured” isn’t a category on the play sheet. If it is, you have the wrong coach. Bring back the ice cream sprinkles.
Trevor's injury vs the lions last year looked 1000 times worse than this.

Remind me how many games he missed from that one?
Oh, wait, he threw for 368 yards against the tacks in Nashville the following week.

Let's tone down the drama here.

Again, the "momentum shift" could have been avoided completely by running it more. Goes back to the INT being tossed over the middle. People are butthurt now because there's less than three days to prepare for the Saints and he's now potentially or already in the process of splitting first team reps with Beathard.

And, again, situation, situation, situation, situation, situation. Did I miss something during those first three quarters? When we were up 31 to 6 entering the 4th quarter? Did Minshew, after having a fumble and multiple INT's that resulted in 17+ points being scored on the day get benched for Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady or John Elway? Did Patrick Mahomes sneak in after playing on Thursday night?

You can die on this hill all you want. It's admirable, foolish, but, admirable. You're in a very, very small group with this line of thinking man. Local news guys were ripping it post game, just like they ripped it today on the local shows that's Jaguars related. Say whatever you want.

It was not a wise decision, period, having your [BLEEP] QB rolling around or throwing it THAT close to the endzone with 3:00 minutes and some change to play being up 14 points already. Just bad, bad situational football and awareness there. Period. If you want to stand there and defend that turd in the teal colored punch bowl along with nejagsfan? Knock yourself out.
Doug apparently calling out coaches and Trevor for not just taking the sack/going down quick.
Coaches (including himself) should have TL playing less "hero ball" seems to be what Doug is saying.

That makes a lot of sense, particularly in that situation.
