Trevor looked great on Friday. I know it was against backups but in situations like that you want that difference to stand out and boy did it stand out.

I think Trevors going to be shutting a lot of critics up this year.

trolls abound, and people have yet to disappoint when I expect the worst out of em.

Yeah. I mean, it sucks, but, that's the reality of it for now. Depending on how they fair against Cleveland, my opinion may change.

They still have a good ways to go though. It was encouraging to see the running game improve on Friday.

But, like you said in the Brian Thomas Jr. thread, they did that against back up's, so, hard to figure out the yard stick with these guys.

I'm giving that honor to Tank. Dude has been running with purpose and producing. Didn't see that at all last year. I'm a bit less uneasy about the RB position if Etienne needs a breather.

It was a small sample size of less than 10 touches I think, but the last couple of games last year Tank looked to be running with purpose as well.  More so than he had earlier in the year at least and I remarked as much about it then.  It's amazing what can happen if we just give a rookie some time to develop and gain experience before jumping to conclusions about the trajectory of their career.

This all goes back to constructive reps and the on-boarding process.  Baalkie complained about it and Doug agreed with him. When Baalkie got his job it took almost 2 years to rebuild the scouting teams. Until then we were stuck with entitled, embedded under-performers. Doug set to work this off-season fixing the on-boarding process. Look, Doug had his hands full when he first arrived, it is understandable this was the off-season he got to it.

Not long. First major speed bump for them is early. The Browns on the 15th followed by the Bills on the 23rd.

Or maybe...and I'm just spit balling here...but what if...just maybe having those 5 guys out there healthy and with the new center replacing the worst part of the line. Well, golly gee Margaret, what if these guys just are actually ok? Heck, really run one up the flag pole here, but what if they're...good?

Yea, but if they didn't I would think they were sick or something...

Yeah I think their 'Lawrence Alerts' are only set for turnovers. Then check the box score

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but this guy is always interesting. At 5:20 he analyzes why Scherff lost his man and Lawrence had to avoid a rush right up the middle.

Yeah. Have shared him a few times on here. He's a former QB. Journeyman NFL back up. Think he played for the Packers, Saints, Bills, etc.

And yet, based on last year’s second half collapse and his turnover stats, the national media has by and large dismissed him as a middling quarterback. Same people who praise gunslingers like Bret Favre. They’re gonna eat a lot of crow this year.

Impressive considering the debacle that was his rookie year
Lawrence is fine. He just needs to work on his turnovers going into year four. Cut that number down and his reputation of being turnover prone will go away quickly. The redzone offense as a whole needs to improve, which is not all on him.

He was literally let down multiple times last year inside the redzone, especially by Ridley and especially by the offensive line being inadequate to pick-up a yard or two on the ground. So far, just through what we saw during the preseason, it looks like those things are trending in the right direction.

My season projections for him:

4,300+ yards passing
27+ passing TD's
275+ yards rushing
4+ rushing TD's
Completion Percentage: 66.9% - 67.3%
Combined Turnovers (INT/FUM) - Less than 15

I don't think anybody would complain with those numbers above. That's a sound season for any NFL QB over 17 games. Would honestly put him in the MVP conversation in my opinion, provided, the team is above the .500 mark and fighting for a play-off spot convincingly.

His talent has been there since day one. It's now year three in the same system, with some new faces installed, it's just time. The contract extension this off season was the vote of confidence everybody already had, just needed to see it made official.

Yeah. Shared that last night. It's his biggest area of improvement that is needed. At some point, the excuses cannot be made anymore for it. Ball security is ball security.

His contract now will put a huge target on his back. Every mistake he makes now, whether it's a few or in bunches, it will be heavily scrutinized. I believe in the kid though, and, I believe he's fixing to put on one hell of a show in year four.

Genuinely believe by week 12, week 13, that, he's clearly in the MVP discussion and race for 2024.

With the money they gave him he better have more than 27 passing TDs.
I also believe he will have high number of ints but he is more than welcome to prove me wrong.

Let's dig a little deeper instead of just throwing out random stats to make our QB look bad.

11 of those 18 losses were under Urban Meyer (literal worst coach in NFL history) and during his rookie year throwing to Tavon Austin as his #1 WR.

On top of that, the defense gave up an average of 30 points per game in those losses.

That stat has more to do with the overall talent around Trevor on both sides of the ball than it does in regards to Trevor.

He has to limit is fumbling issues but my god, if he doesn't play perfect, the team won't win. He means that much to them. Mahomes and the offense were horrible last year and they won the SB. You think Trevor could have had a year like Mahomes and win the SB? No chance.
