Glad that's sorted and won't be dragged out. Got our franchise QB locked up and in 2-3 years it will look even better business.

Nope. Every time he makes a mistake now, has a bad game or doesn't get it done in crunch time the trolls and goblins will be out in droves here. LOL.

They used to do that anyway. The only difference will be instead of calling him a bust and we should have drafted someone else they'll now use his contract.

Unless we win of course and then they never seem to appear on here. Weird.
Does this mean we now have Trevor under contract for seven years? As in does this extend five years beyond the two years he still remains on his existing contract?

I believe so. Its saying its a 5 year extension so guessing that includes the 2 years left of his rookie deal.

$142m at signing! Damn, that's not a bad day at work!
Good news. Mid-season 2022 to mid-season 2023 he was on fire. Then the injuries hit. He will bounce back this year and I predict AFC Championship game minimum.
He gonan retire a jaguar

DUUUUUVAAAAAL
I actually think this is going to end up being pretty good value for him. I think the Jags set the market price for a few other QB's, which I think they'll top..

Mahomes & Love being a couple..
I was one of the few that didn't want them to overpay for Trevor...but now that he's extended I'm going to defend the decision until I die.

IT AIN'T MY DAMN MONEY!!!

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuvaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllll!!

LOL...X with the Minshew/Dan Jones comparisons...then when I bring up Big Ben's year 3 stats I'm the one that needs to stop posting.
The franchise is turning a corner, finally.
But just to be clear, we only got three additional years for all that money. I’m still OK with it, though, because we had no other choice

There always was only one choice and that choice was the correct one
A very smart man started this thread.

Well deserved for Trevor. He’ll put up 30+ TDs this year and the trolls will go back and hide.

The Daniel Jones comparison is garbage.  Look at the last two seasons worth of games for each guy and he blows DJ out of the water as the eye test confirms.  [BLEEP] that happened 3 and 4 seasons ago is irrelevant at this point so it shouldn't be used in an honest comparison about where guys are right now which is what you base expectations on going forward.  It's trolls and casuals circulating that crap.

Yep. Resigning Josh and Trevor were sensible decisions that we would have messed up before.

Finally building a roster for the long term.
Hopefully trevor is our QB for the next 10 years. We have needed stability at this position for so long.

That’s not true.

Trevor won’t be a FA until 2031.

His contract won’t kick in until the 2026 season.

I am not too sure of that. The below is from spotrac - note the bolded UFA at the bottom.

Contract Terms:
5 yr(s) / $275,000,000
Average Salary:
$55,000,000
Signing Bonus:
$37,500,000
GTD at Sign:
$142,000,000
Total GTD:
$200,000,000
Free Agent:
2031 / UFA

Spotrac lists it as tied for 2nd with Burrows.  Only question I have is are they done? if not who is next? Etienne? Cisco?
A better deal than the forever injured Joe Burrow, who is also pulling down $55 mil per yr.
Where does this put Trevor compared to other QB pay top 5? Top 10?

Ok happy he is locked up just wondering how his pay stacks up I guess
