As Red said from the Shawshank Redemption, "Something lit a fire under that boys [BLEEP]."  Lawrence admits himself it was a true wake up game. I think everyone here is happy he is becoming that franchise QB.  If you did not have no doubt at all through his struggles I would question your sanity.

Now to people who are eating crow.  Lets not forget that tool Chris Sims.  He was going on about how Zack Wilson will be a better NFL QB than Trevor Lawrence.  It's not looking too good for his prediction.

Never a doubt for me

Did he struggle? Sure. But there was never a doubt in mind that this would happen.

I also said when it finally clicks, it’s going to be beautiful.

And would you look at that…. BEAUTIFUL

There were MANY of you starting to have doubt in Trevor turning it around. I had doubt in Trevor. Now everyone is pretending they knew the entire time he was gonna be THE guy and ragging a poster that was early to voice his concerns.

This is a freaking message board where people should be able to post and discuss contrary views without feeling like they will have their head pounded into the sand.

I feel like ChrisJagBoy was fairly representing a lot of our concerns and I enjoyed reading the discussion here during those periods of time.

You guys really need to ease up a bit and let go. Enjoy the upward arrow and embrace any Jag fan that is currently happy the arrow is pointing up.

Your current rhetoric and exchange is alienating at best....but most of all it's boring...

Oh please!  Being wrong is just fine.  That dude drove us nuts for a year and a half with dang near TMD levels of crap, and to hear him tell it, he was never wrong because Trevor wasn't perfect from day one.

NYC and FLSports, thank you so much for your efforts to give it back.  I expect many feel the same way.

I come here to read differing opinions. It only drove you nuts because you didnt agree with him and now that he was wrong, you guys are beating a dead horse. It’s boring and no longer contributing to discussion of this thread nor the board as a whole.

If you guys label everyone a troll and beat them over the head because they have differing opinions, you wont attract many new members looking for open discussion. Some food for thought as our fan base will probably grow as Trevor ascends. Ban the trolls for sure… other team fans coming here posing as a true fan posting nonsense…ok ban him.. but gotta be open minded to other opinions on a site designed to share them. It just kinda how these things work.
Remember most people here are here because we live and breath Jaguars. If you are still a fan after living through 2018-2021, you deserve to be a fan here sharing your opinion as long as it’s constructive.

No disrespect to NYC or FLSports - thank you for all the hard work you two do around here. I would just like to inject some positivity and let go of past bs…enjoy the moment(s) we have been waiting on for so damn long.

Actually. What drove people nuts was the name calling when trying to defend our views on Trevor.

People differ on here constantly. But when every single thread is taken over about how bad Trevor is and how they need to select a new QB next year and how we are all nut huggers….. yea. That’s not having a discussion.

This too shall pass but it’s ok to give some guff back.

Well could let the guy have a redemption tale.. If he put in his signature he was wrong, I mean what more do you want him to do? I read through all those post back then and stayed out of it because there was mudslinging on both sides. At a certain point anyone will become defensive if they feel constantly under attack.

You can forgive a lot of frustration around here given what we have been through as a fan base. At this point we all need to just come together. I have not seen a team like this since the 90s and soon everyone will know we are the real deal. Great time to be alive gentlemen.

There's no shame in not having the perspective and experience observing football to be able to properly evaluate QB play
from a young and growing player. The vast majority of people can't, which is completely understandable. If CJB would just admit he didn't have the experience or perspective to know what he was seeing I'd certainly be willing to excuse it.

I wasn't/haven't/didn't evaluate him and deem him a bust or a bad player. I wanted to take him #1 in the draft, this entire argument was based on my critiques of his flaws which he had 2+ years ago, and still was dealing with this year (Over throws/accuracy/decision making) to name a couple. Again, never said he wouldn't be good just pointed out his flaws.

Some players can't shake their bad tendencies, some can. I said nothing wrong.

First of all, I called people "Nut huggers" because people were openly defending terrible plays like nothing was his fault. Trying to make any excuse in the world for him, even on interceptions where he threw it directly to a DB with no WR around somehow that was on the WR/Meyer... it got old

Secondly, "every single thread is taken over about how bad trevor is and to select a new QB" LOL WHO SAID ANY OF THAT. The literal only time I ever suggested drafting a new QB to replace Trevor was on a thread supposing we had the #1 pick again this season and Trevor somehow regressed from 12 td 17 ints to something worse.

You wanna talk about not having a discussion? Let's talk. Every time I say anything positive about Lawrence I'm berated by childish moderators who "name call" as you say on a consistent and downright TROLLING basis.

I did not spam anything, I barely mention Trevors flaws unless prompted by someone else. You know, like in his rookie year he'd have 5 terrible drives and then make one decent 20+ yard throw and everyone would @ me and tell me how dumb I am like he was playing lights out football.

All of this nonsense was started by people who decided to attack my opinions when the guy WASNT EVEN GOING TO BE OUR QB, THESE OPINIONS WERE POSTED WHEN THE JETS HAD THE #1 PICK AT THAT TIME LOL.

The simple truth is that people misjudge what i've said, and think I need to apologise for a take I never had. The first thread I made when Lawrence became our QB right after the draft was something to the effect of "Skeptical, but extremely excited" nothing bashing him, the most bashing I did of Trevor was during a game day thread when he played bad, but at the same time everytime he did something good I also called it the [BLEEP] out. You know how when Tre Herndon gives up a deep pass? and literally everyone on the board gets upset? Or how about when Travon Walker got that penalty on3rd and long a few weeks back and multiple people including moderators called him an idiot? yeah I do that too but I don't treat our QB like the refs do, no special treatment if you play like [BLEEP] I'ma say you played like [BLEEP] and if you play like a pro bowler, i'll praise you. Get a grip.
I was pessimistic about Trevor for a lot of the middle of the season. But the most I was ever willing to say was, "He will play out his rookie contract. Hopefully he becomes great before the contract is up, but if not, we try again." A lot of us said that after the Denver game.

But CJB said we should draft a new QB next year. That's bonkers and it will always be bonkers, even if Trevor regresses again. It's not as if we've got this window where we have great players at other positions and just need a QB. We have mediocre players at other positions, and we needed to, and still need to, see if Trevor becomes that guy that makes them all look better than they are. Turns out Trevor is that guy. But even if he wasn't we would keep him thru 2023.

BRUH I NEVER SAID THAT L0L

I can't find the thread but I remember the conversation very well. The thread topic was something like "if we have the 1st overall pick in 2023 do we look at qbs"

My response was something like: If Trevor plays as bad or worse than he did in 2021 (12 td 17 ints) and is the main reason we suck and shows no signs of progression then I wouldn't be opposed to taking the Cardinals approach when they dumped Rosen early on for Murray.

Which ofcourse in classic Duvalpride MB fashion, people immediately tried to say I was comparing Lawrence to Rosen when I wasn't. Just that if it was obvious he wasn't getting better by the end of year 2 if their is a guy worthy of the #1 pick it wouldn't be a bad idea to test the waters.

This was a HYPOTHETICAL scenario in which Trevor was worse than his rookie year, showed no progress and was the main reason we had the #1 pick, WHICH I ALSO SAID THAT I HIGHLY DOUBT HE WOULDN'T BE BETTER THAN HE WAS IN 2021, I said I expect him to have 22 TD 15 turnovers (which isn't really far off from what he's done this year including fumbles)

Y'all need to stop reaching so damn hard.

Word of advice for you Chrisboy. Just do not care what they say about you. They are pounding their chest and thats perfectly fine. Just take the L and move on. By responding to them you are just feeding the trolls. Back to footabll.

Lawrence has all the tools. The future is bright for the team. The one issue is when it comes to giving him his pay day. I feel far too often you get crazy contract deals that pay the QB but hamper the rest of the team.  Green bay and Rodgers is an example. Just ask Denver how they feel about paying Russell Wilson $200 million dollar.  Luckily we have a few years to worry about that. The window to win is now. I hope this season jump starts this team.

I hear what you're saying, but there is no L to take. I've been trying to move on from the subject but people keep blatantly lying to try and discredit me on something I didn't say. You know it's pretty bad that I have 5-6 guys who DM me on this board (users who made their accts in like 2006-2008 era) who have to quietly pm and agree with me because they don't want backlash. It's pretty sad the environment that these mods have made this place. We need more mods like MarleyJaguar who is a respectable guy, and less like the two clowns who power trip off some lame mod position of a barely active message board.

Get a grip.

Imma break this down for you:

How are we misjudging " He Sucks" and "I see no reason for hope" ??
This are YOUR VERBATIM WORDS on Trevor Lawrence. You backpedaling coward.

The apology that a dozen posters have repeatedly stated you should make wasn't for your ignorant QB analysis but for your repeated insults to the fanbase and message board.

If you are trying to compare critique of an undrafted back up DB who wouldn't make the PS on 18 teams in this league to you pissing all over Trevor Lawrence, God help you son. You are dumber than I thought. And I thought you were really stupid.

Please go read the [BLEEP] rules of this message board and quit acting like a butthurt little [BLEEP] because you don't  know and understand them.

I didnt get it and I recall you saying in Oct if he finished out the year like he was performing you would be concerned. It’s always a guess whether someone will work out or not. Tlaw had some issues with accuracy in Sept and Oct. I saw him over throw many times. He was missing wide open receivers and wasn’t going through his reads fully. Let’s not sit here and pretend we all knew he was going to be the franchise QB we hoped he could be earlier this year. You can see the game is now slowing down for him and he is striking with the poise and confidence that garnered his fame in college.

I think any fan of this franchise has just about run out of any patience. We have been waiting a loooooong time for this kind of football again.
I say it does not really matter who said what, or who made a wrong prediction

What matters is that Trevor looks pretty good now, and we all win

I'd like to see names and proof because I don't think the bolded statement is true. And I want proof because if it is true, they need to be given the same jabs that you're getting.

As the saying goes, "Talk [BLEEP], get hit". If they were talking dumb [BLEEP] like you were, then they deserve to be hit just like you are.

Nah.

You were just to impatient to let a young QB acclimate to a real NFL offense. Others were not - because we've seen this before and we get it.

You're wrong. I never doubted Trevor once and had no problem speaking out against the bull [BLEEP] he got, over and over. Whether it was last year, or this year.

As I've said multiples times, the positives with Trevor always far outweighed the negatives. The problem is too many of you guys hyper focused on the few negatives and ignored all of the high level positives. Also all while ignoring the situation he had to deal with in his rookie year and just excusing it as nothing. Which makes it even funnier consider multiple players have all but come out and said they're sorry that Trevor had to deal with Urban last year and that he was a complete cancer.

We already knew (a number of us at least) Urban was a cancer, but the fact that players are openly saying it in front of cameras should hammer it home for you.

Like I said once before, it wasn't just what you were saying, it was how you were saying it.  You kept saying, paraphrasing of course, "He sucks..." "He's terrible..." and you left it there.  And over and over.  But you didn't put any context on it.  Nothing about the situation he was in, or that he was a rookie, or anything.  And now you say, "well he did suck, how was I wrong?"  You're trying to weasel out of your take.  And the more you fight about it, the worse it gets.  Stop defending yourself.  Show some humility.  Just say, "I was wrong."  And it will probably all go away.

People aren't pummeling you now because of your old take.  They're pummeling you because you refuse to own it.

Or, all of you could stop giving the attention whore what he craves. Lecturing him on how he was wrong and how he continues to be wrong only feeds into his lust for attention. He doesn’t care if the attention is negative, it only matters that the conversation is about him.

Do any of you get it? Surely you do because I’ve seen all of you use the word ‘troll’ but yet you continue to allow yourselves to be played like gullible children.
I’m ready to move on because it’s another thread already derailed.
