You can definitely make a case that Burrow was a better QB overall last year but I wouldn’t say they’re not on the same level. In fact, in the last 7 games Lawrence was every bit the player Burrow was. I expect that to continue into the new season.

It's year two with familiar faces on offense + an alpha in Ridley. He should be neck and neck with him all year in QB play, if not, better.

I really think we're potentially fixing to see one of THOSE offenses in the NFL here for the next decade+.

Just a consistent, reliable offense that the clots, saints, chargers and pats had for years. The same offense KC is rocking with now.

The amount of options they have personnel wise on offense this year is sickening. In a good way. This is the best offense on paper and with high end potential that we have seen since the 90's in Jacksonville.

It was long overdue.

Doing it through a 9 game stretch isn't a fluke either. Went 7-2 during that stretch.

Don’t forget he went 2-1 in the first 3 games in the 2022 season. I see a lot of people saying “the second half of the season” or the “last 9 games” but he also went 2-1 in the first 3 games of the season.

During the first 3 games of the 2022 season, Lawrence completed 70.75% of his passes and averaged 257 yards passing with 6 touchdowns to 1 interception. With a rating of 104. With a record of 2-1, with the loss coming up in Washington where Etienne dropped a 4th down pass that he would have scored an easy TD. The Jaguars should have won 29-28 if Travis catches that ball. Zay Jones had a chance to make a diving catch for a TD on the play before that but he dropped it.

Lawrence had a chance to be 3-0 to start the season but everyone keeps saying “the last 9 games” or “second part of the season.”

Yea he had some good games in the first half of the season no doubt, but he also had some stinkers as well. Specifically the Eagles, Texans and Broncos games.

During the 2nd half of the season he was completely dialed in and was playing great football throughout. Some of the best QB play in the entire league. Right up there with the likes of Mahomes and Burrow etc. which was being discussed.

Eagles game was a monsoon. I think for me it was the tinhorns game at home that really stood out as a stinker. We had a chance in the end to stop Wilson in London.

It happens. As long they cut back on the redzone turnovers they'll be fine. Which I think they will. We had a ton of games that were decided by a possession or two.

Including that Denver loss, the last minute Ryan to Pierce burning of Griffin on the road and the opener in Washington.

I know the Eagles game was a monsoon, but 5 turnovers is never good no matter how you try and slice it.

Can add the Giants game to that list of close losses. Doug going for it on 4th and 1 at the Giants' 21 yard line was a big reason for that loss. They kick the FG there, we're up 20-13 with about 11 minutes to play in the 4th. Instead they failed the 4th down conversion and Giants took the ball down the field and burnt 6 minutes off the clock to go up 20-17.

They score another FG after a 3 n out by us that was jumped started by a Jawaan Taylor false start on the 1st play and naw we have to score a TD to win, when we could have only needed a FG to tie. We were at their 17 yard line with 12 seconds left. What should have been a FG attempt for extra minutes turned into a 16 yard completion to Kirk who was tackled 1 yard short of the end zone. Game Over.

It was ugly in Philly. For sure. Hopefully they got it out of their system early in the preseason but they're a young team still. They'll probably have four games this year just like that above. They'll just win more convincingly in the other contests.

What’s your problem?

He didn’t bash Trevor, he just said he’s not on burrows level yet (which is universally accepted by anyone with eyes) and that he hopes this year he will be.

Sorry - I remember things.

Poster in question posted a thread bashing Trev mid-season last year.

I'll be nice.

I am use to NYC4jags coming off as a jerk. He has little man syndrome or something. I treat him like one of those small ankle biter small dogs. Just ignore it most times.
Where's all the love, guys? The Jags are getting ready to launch a dynasty in 10 minutes and you guys are chipping on each other. Dang...

LOL

I just disagree with some of your takes.
It's all good.

Go JAGS!
Trevor's throw to Zay was just beautiful. The announcer was right, if that was rodgers or burrow, that throw is all over PFT, ESPN,
nfl.com, etc.

The throw he made to Ridley where he broke the pocket and rolled left and threw the football on a line as he was running to his left was crazy. That is one of the hardest throws in football for a right-handed QB.

Well today he was don't you think?

Trevor 24 of 32 - 75% comp. 241 yards -2 TD - 1 INT
Burrows 14 of 31 - 45% comp.  82 yards - 0 TD - 0 INT

Second have you actually polled everyone with eyes or are you just shooting from the hip?

..Wink

Haha yes. Trevor looked like Trevor today.
Burrow looked awful so I wonder what’s going on there

That throw was BEAUTIFUL. I can’t find it but when it’s posted, someone add it here. Rolling to his left and hit Zay on a second window throw.

That was nice but I like the TD pass to Zay better.  The one to Engram was a great throw as well.  Trevor throwing on the run has always been a strength of his
