This team wins when they use the middle of the field. With Thomas over the top, the FS can't come up and the SS has to help cover the TE.

Does Kirk’s TD miss count as a drop? Curious

I think not.

Just an incompletion via the boundary.

Getting 190 yards out of your running backs helps a little bit too, LOL
There is no doubt Trevor Lawrence is our franchise QB. People that think differently just don't watch these games. Even against Houston, which was his worst game, he still played well enough for me to think this is our long term guy.

He just needs a better staff around him. Look at how the Chiefs use Mahommes. Mahommes has similar stats to Lawrence. Yet they are undefeated and we're mediocre at best. With proper support, Lawrence is just as good as Mahommes.

I believe in Trevor but even with proper support, Mahomes is in a league of his own. No one matches him
Stroud didn’t crack 100 yards today…. Imagine if that was Trevor. The internet would implode.

We'd be at 400 pages in this thread, LOL.

A man can dream, can't he?

I'm just saying with proper mentorship, I think Trevor could be a top 5 QB.  With his current mentorship, he's a common dude.  I just think there is potential there that has not really been tapped yet.

Trevor is held to a higher standard.  The haters are quiet right now, but they are laying in the weeds sharpening their knives ready to pounce the next time he has a subpar game.

You sir, are a wise man.

Next week we take on the Packers.  A team with a much better HC.  A really good offense, and a defense that will completely shut down any predictable offensive play.

Trevor will be blamed for his inability to coach the D.  And I'm sure we'll have to read a bunch of nonsense about how Trevor needed to beat the Packers all by himself because of reasons.  Whatever those reasons are, they will be nonsense.  Lawrence is a Franchise QB.

It’s on Trevor to keep “haters” at bay and have them come out very infrequently.

If they’re coming out every other week - that’s a sign Trevor ain’t playing well

Yep. And Mahomes with 7 picks in 6 games. I'm sure Chiefs boards are full of posts saying he's not that good and just had a good streak of games but now is at his real level.
Yeah re visit the o line after next week vs cheese heads

Its both though. The team can't run to open the pass, it has to be the other way around. Hopefully the OL change has lasting effects and also means there is a change to RG.

BTW, Minshew was 15/34 - 154 and 3 picks.  LOL   Sorry.

Who said anything about Minshew?
Was fortunate enough to be back at the game. The first quarter was one of the worst I’ve seen, but everything came together the last 3 quarters.

TLaw looked good, even in the first quarter, the drop and bad play calling didn’t help .

He was really clinically the first drive after we went 10-0 down, and the ball to Thomas was a beauty, and a lovely catch, after that with the punt return it was game over with the running game doing its job to close out the game.

This team is so weird. It makes me wonder if the BTJ pass was the switch to reengage the team much like the drop by ETN in the Miami game disengaged it.

Tough stretch of games coming up. We’ll see if they’ve learned how to cope with adversity.

The crux here is that they could still play really well in these upcoming games and lose all of them. 2 teams that have 1 loss, a 5-2 Packers team and the 4-2 Eagles. This stretch may be the hardest stretch any team in the NFL has all season.

There’s a poster (indyjagsfan?) who only shows up similar to Oz when Trevor had a bad game; and goes on to extol the virtues of keeping minshew over Trevor
