Hamas and the Saudis are mortal enemies.  The Saudis historically were tied to the PLO / Fatah. Many times Hamas has respected Egypt to mediate ceasefires between themselves and Israel.  But since 2014 Egypt has basically been a client state of Saudi Arabia (they were American clients from 1979 to 2013, then the Saudis funded a coup that installed their current government.  Yet we still send them money even though they no longer follow our lead... funny how that works...).  Long story short MBS is already at the table by proxy and him getting more directly involved is just the mask coming off.  He's not on our side but he's not on Hamas' side either.

The Kingdom and Israel actually have common interests in this case, as do several of the other more moderate Islamist countries.
