Although fiction, I would think that women would follow the lead of the character in 'The Queen Gambit' mini-series.  Play whoever, whenever, under equal rules.  That is true equality.

This would be the way I'd do it if I were into chess.

The sport of curling has men's teams, women's teams consisting of 4 people on each team plus an alternate, and mixed doubles which is a team of on male and one female with no alternate. Everyone who plays on a mixed doubles team also plays on a regular team but not everyone who is on a regular team is on a MD team. It's all about preference or if they're even good at playing a MD game which is a bit different than a regular game.

In non-contact sports in general some women would prefer to compete with other women exclusively while others wouldn't care and still others would only want to compete with men. It all depends on how they were raised, how they were trained, how they personally feel about the 'politics' of it all, etc. Some women want a level playing field across the board while others prefer to "stay in their lane".

Let them decide how to compete.

Well that's nitpicking isn't it?
The conversation to that point was exclusive to chess and poker, both of which are sports.

No, you're wrong.  Sports are PHYSICAL activities or contests, whereas chess and poker are MENTAL.

I agree.  I don't think the man who entered the poker game was in the right.  Women have a right to organize all women's poker tournaments, and if they do the men should respect their space.  Women also have the right to play against men if they want to and the men should generally be OK with it.  In the recent past men thought it was dishonorable to play against women but that changed.  Men only tournaments would still be OK, but most will allow women if the women want to be there.

Also, if anyone here plays chess, I just started learning. I'd love to play some games online and pick up a thing or two.

Go to chess.com.  You can sign up for free and play people from all over the world, or just play the computer at whatever setting suits you.

Also, there are tons of videos on youtube that will teach you all sorts of things about chess.

Try this one.  Click "play with computer," pick a level, and play.

No wonder a man would want to pretend to be a woman and play women’s chess - apparently a woman’s chess board uses TWO kings.

Badump - tish.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, but I know how the internet works. That was more about playing a person a know (or kind of know), and picking their brain while we play. You know... relationship building.

Why should women have the exclusive right to organize all women's poker tournaments?  Can't a man function as organizer?
So, women should be allowed to play against men, if they so choose, but men aren't allowed to compete against women in non-physical competition?  That doesn't exactly meet the definition of equal rights.

P.S. Forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but "men only" tournaments that allow women aren't men only.

Where did I use the word exclusive?

You are also being very dense, you're confusing statements of what should happen with statements of what does happen

People of both genders have a right to organize single gender tournaments.
It is better if there are mixed gender tournaments, but no one has any obligation to organize tournaments that way if they don't want to.
In recent history, there were very few tournaments where women could compete against men. The women protested, and that changed, but if men ever want to do a men only tournament that is still their right.

Already seen it. Laughing Laughing

Sorry to be a killjoy, but my motherboard is fine. To the extent it has any problem, it's from actual paid work, not noodling about women's poker and chess.

One of my biggest concerns with porn is the titles. Like dad has sex with daughter and [BLEEP] like that. I think, much like speech, service providers need to figure out how to regulate this by following the local laws on any given subject.... speech, porn, religion, etc. This is perfectly within their capability. Sure, anyone with a VPN can get around it, but that's on them.
