Remember when I PM'ed Bunny my voter ID?

Still searching for validation?

No, it was never that.  I don't know why I come here.  An addiction of some sort.  There are worse things to be addicted to.

Then why send Bunny your voter ID?

I didn't come here to prove I was a Republican until you fools started saying I wasn't one.
What if you were on a message board and multiple other members started saying you must be Hispanic.  But you weren't.  Sure, it might be ridiculous, but, it would probably bother you.  It's an identity thing.  Not a validity thing.

It's a message board, dude.. Gotta grow thicker skin than that..

Parody account, but still had to sit there and think that she could actually say something that stupid..

Maybe.  But if you guys could stick to the facts and logic of what I'm saying, rather than my identity and feelings, that would be great.  If I'm wrong about anything it's because my facts and logic are wrong.  Not because of anything personal.

I meant he's not pretending to be an intellectual. He's just a normal guy having a conversation.

That's only because you couldn't spend other people's money. If you could've, wellllll....you'd still be in there.

You can decide if I'm an intellectual or not, but I'm not pretending anything.  I know a lot of big words. I make connections others miss, and I miss connections most others make. I speak in even tones around here and I insult no one unless insulted first. I'm definitely not a "normal guy," and I'm OK with that.

Where do you suggest I go? Don't say Twitter or other social media.

Twitter is probably the best place to go because you get the info straight from the horses mouth instead of 3rd party info similar to the old game of 'telephone'..

I want to know what these people actually say and think instead of over-opinionated garbage from "other sources"..

I don't need a cable news outlet to tell me how to think..

You'd be surprised how different info can be when it's said on Twitter and not heard from on garbage news outlets..

I've never used Twitter much but I was on Facebook during their attempt at handling news and it was really, really bad.

Yes, you're getting something right from the horse's mouth, sometimes.  But that horse might not actually know anything.  He might be making it up.  And more often you're getting something that was virally shared and is 5 or 6 degrees of separation from the person who originally saw it and said something about it.

The things you share from Twitter confirm my suspicions.  You don't know these people, you're not checking what they say, and even if it's factual it's usually not important.

Regardless of what that person may be saying on Twitter is factual or not, is still much better than getting the info from cable 3rd party news. There's been plenty said on Twitter that has been deemed false. But, (gotta love Elon), he implemented a fact checking source called Community Notes, which provides the truth and direct links to that truth. So by having Community Notes, it's been keeping everyone pretty much in line with facts.

If I post something that's from Elon Musk and it turns out to be false, who's more to blame? Myself for posting it or Elon?

These people are going to give false information, that's what they do.. But, I'd still would rather get that false info from the actual source than a 3rd party making up their own version of the story and feeding it to me unwillingly..

I'd rather the false info come from the main source, so that main source can be held accountable.

I love San Francisco. It’s been many moons ago since I was there last but it would still be great to visit again. It used to be a place that was eclectic but sensible. It’s a shame the loons are running the joint now.

I was there in March.  Took the kids.  The touristy areas are cleaned up and not bad at all.  I took them to Portland the year before.  Portland is much dirtier and the homelessness is much more visible compared to the touristy parts of San Fran.  I'm told that if we strayed too far from the Bart stops and Ghirardelli square we would have seen some stuff, but we didn't.

It had its dodgy parts, but it was still fairly safe walkable city back then. But such is the plight of many cities today and it won't be solved until this country gets a handle on fentanyl.
