How would you describe skills learned as slaves that "could be used for personal benefit?"

By the way, I'm unaware of the content of the VP's comments on the subject other than knowing she mentioned the new curriculum in a recent podium appearance.

I merely described them as I've seen them described in 12 different headlines. I even put the quotes around the word to avoid this semantics roundabout.

Well I’ll be.  There it is right there!  Unbelievable!  Right there in the 2nd paragraph, between the third and fourth sentence.  Desantis is pro slavery.

So basically, DeSantis and the democrats have something in common..

He's shot and probably had another stroke. He should have retired years ago.

There are way too many in Congress that need to retire before they die in office.

The look on his face looked like he needed help because he didn't know what he was doing, where he was at, or what was going on.

I think this is actually something EVERYONE can agree with.

No one in their 80's should be making decisions for this country. I think there are even some people in their 90s who are in Congress.
I'm all for age limits. Can't run for office after 65. People in office before 65 can serve for one additional term.

I think I'd go with 68 or 70 in today's age of medical science, but I'm in agreement in principle.
Musk responds to McConnell freezing at press conference, says 'constitutional amendment' is needed
Several Twitter users responded to Elon Musk's tweet suggesting there should be age limits for members of Congress

Elon Musk said the incident Wednesday when Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., appeared to freeze up during a news conference with other Republican leaders should warrant a "need" for a constitutional amendment.

That was bizarre how he just froze up. Any neurologists (or someone who slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night) on here?

Anecdotal info here - Zero expertise on my end - but the way he stopped mid sentence and froze was exactly how my aunt describes my uncle having a mild stroke mid convo with her a few years ago.

(he regained function with treatment and rehab FWIW)

This is how my husband's grandmother was when she had a stroke. We were sitting in church and singing and all of a sudden she just stopped moving. I was sitting next to her and didn't even notice at first and when I did it was like- oh [BLEEP]. She was in the hospital for a few days and lived for a few more years but she was never the same again. She was in her 90s so not surprising.
Since nobody reads 5000 page bills, let's slip in "Term Limits"...........

If it's appropriate to have a minimum age restriction, it is equally appropriate to have a maximum.

We should also set a mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court justices.

On the radio a little while ago they talked about how Diane Feinstein was so confused during a recent Senate vote that an aide had to tell her what to say.

I’m not sure about age limits, but if a lawmaker displays obvious mental decline, the legislative body needs to step up and take action. However, that opens up a whole other can of political posturing worms.

Sadly, the moderate left will remain silent on this because they don’t want to incur the wrath of the extremists who are steering their party and media. In their world, if a protected class levels charges of phobia and hate, then it must be true and that person becomes fair game for persecution and cancellation. The inmates are in charge and they’re afraid to challenge it.
Great interview on Tucker with Ice Cube..
