Edit: ironically, JD Vance checks your box, and mine. Rubio does nothing. He already has the Hispanic vote. Ben Carson doesn't have the "it" factor of being POTUS. Tim Scott is boring, and DJT already gained a ton of black support. Donald's is am up and coming star, but not ready for that spotlight. don't see it being anyone other than Vance at this point.

Vance is the best of the top swamp picks but he still has bad history. He said Hillary was better than Trump before 2016. He has come into the MAGA support and has been loyal since but still find it hard to trust him for this position. Trump is nominating someone to lead the MAGA movement after him, so it has to be 100% the correct pick and can't be another Pence or similar swamp picks that got put into leadership positions.
Vance needs to formally apologize and explain why he said those things in the past. Then say why he has changed and why he is on-board now. That will help sell him to both the democrats joining and the MAGA supporters.
Carson may not speak loud but he carries a big stick and isn't afraid to use it. He can intellectual take down anyone. Put him in a debate with Trump and he will explain all of Trump's grand statements in detail and show how they will help the people.

Unity is good, but it is not the highest good.
If you have a serious and meaningful disagreement, you have to let it out and put it ahead of unity. You have to accept some disunity so everyone can be heard.
But if you just want to piss someone off for fun, that's not healthy. For anyone. You get the disunity but still no one is heard and nothing is accomplished.
