Now that Biden has pardoned his son with a blanket pardon it is now a revenue opportunity for him. How many other Dems will want the same and pay for it?

Might have backfired, but yes, he could have done it. Trump pardoned Roger Stone before the 2020 election. Stone was trying to cover up for Trump. Didn't turn into a big issue.
You either miss the point, or your TDS compels you to defend Biden regardless. His reasons for not pardoning Hunter before the election were not high and noble, or deserving of "credit". They were completely self-serving and for political gain.

The good news in all this is that, since Biden pardoned Hunter for every crime committed the last 11 years, he no longer has 5th Amendment protection when he's summoned to Congress to discuss the Big Guy's position as The Big Guy. If he refuses to answer it's Obstruction. If he lies, it's Perjury. Hunter is going to have to out his daddy or go to jail to protect him.
I can't wait for the hearings!
Get ready for a whole lot of "I don't recall".

That's a valid opinion. If you apply that same cynicism to Trump, Trump's reasons for pardoning Stone are just as self serving and just as much about political gain.

Agreed, he at least has an excuse as he was in a fog from the drugs he bought with his cut.
Amazing ! 2 for 2. but then ALL politicians are self serving and don't make a move unless political gain is involved !

I'm sure lots of financial crimes, sex crimes, drug crimes were committed before 2014 also. How much on the laptop was before 2014?
(12-02-2024, 09:43 AM)Jag149 Wrote: [ -> ]A President can only pardon people for federal crimes. This does not cover State crimes.
Correct but states generally don't charge for state crimes when there are federal ones as those trump the state laws. They should but I doubt anyone charges him. The tax stuff is still easy to prosecute as he had to lie on the state forms and report the fraudulent federal numbers there. Gun stuff should have some state laws being broken as the state runs the background check and approves you.
There have been arguments about needing to be charged and needing to list all crimes in pardons. Generally I doubt a blanket pardon was the intent of the constitution and the common law from then. Now you will have MSM and liberals saying we need to interpret the constitution as it is written exactly.
Who would have seen this coming? Liberals saying to read the constitution and not invent new laws.

Or, just let them ride off into the sunset. There are much higher priorities that need to be addressed than a declining ex-president and his drug addled son. No one will care about the Bidens after January 20th and it will be regarded, rightfully so, as petty political payback to pursue them.

If your kid was rotting in prison for the same crimes these scumbags get to walk for, I'm sure your perspective might be a little different.
I hope they are very petty. They deserve it.

Hunter will get Dad to sign a few blank copies and start the bidding on Ebay on Jan. 21st.

LOL. Nobody is disputing that. They're both politicians and everything they do is for political gain,
Read back through this exchange. You said Biden deserved "credit" for not pardoning Hunter earlier. I said that was a naive viewpoint and he waited until after the election for purely political reasons (Do you not recall his promises during TV interviews to NOT pardon Hunter?).
You then attempted to justify Biden's actions by referencing Trump's pardons. TRUMP WAS NEVER IN THE ORIGINAL DISCUSSION. Textbook TDS! It's very real and you have it.
Let me know when you can discuss Biden, Harris, Democratic policies, etc., on their merits, or lack thereof, WITHOUT dragging Trump into the dialogue.
I am sensing that somehow this discussion is once again about to veer off into a discussion about Mike.

You're saying I should be able to discuss Biden without comparing him to Trump. I say you should be able to let our 45th and 47th president be introduced into a political conversation, without turning it into a personal conversation about the person who brought him up. Who really has TDS here?!
Implicit in your post is, you don't respect me, you think that you make the rules of good political conversation, and maybe you would respect me if I follow your rules. But you won't, because you don't actually follow your own rules and you just want me to say, "you got me, you win." Won't happen. This is a whale you can't catch.

To be fair, he apologized for ONE claim.
I was never on the stolen election bandwagon but I also think it’s important to be factual when attempting to debunk a political narrative you don’t agree with. This is exactly how the MSM has undermined its credibility.

Here is what he said:
D'Souza Media | Statement on 2000 Mules
So basically, "Yeah, it appears my film is bull [BLEEP], but I still say the election was stolen." The he apologizes to the guy who his suing him.
Dinesh D'Souza apologizes for false claims in election conspiracy theory film ‘2000 Mules’
Is that a fair representation?
These are more revealing although they do seem to still center on the one individual. Your claim in the first post was misleading.
Also, are you attributing that quote to D'Souza or are those your words?
