The Jacksonville Public Library sent out an email titled “What’s Your Favorite Banned Book?” for an event this Saturday.

Agree or disagree with the policy, I don’t believe it’s the purview of a public library to wade into politics.
Reading X right now, looks like there's fixin to be a huge backlash against companies that pushed and endorsed BLM, including Coke, The NFL and MLB..

I'd like to see their list of banned books. I'd wager "banned" isn't the right word for them at all.

I wonder what their reaction will be when someone shows up to say their favorite banned book is the one describing to prepubescent readers how to perform [BLEEP].

Is that booked truly banned though? I don't know, but I bet parents who want their elementary school aged child to read it could obtain it from Amazon or B & N.

The Library is a division of the city government and should never touch anything politically charged.  The same is true for any other entity funded with tax dollars.

Favorite mystery, romance, sci-fi, etc., fine; banned, no.
