You can't rely on an opinion from someone who is a self identified contrarian. So if you're a self identified contrarian, your opinions should fall on deaf ears since we all know that your answers and opinions are biased and are meant to disrupt and cause conflict for the hell of it..
You're the boy who cried wolf.. Or in your case, cried Trump. You will take each topic and choose the most unpopular opinion or answer just to buck the system. So when you actually do (if ever) offer sound advice or an opinion, it will always be overlooked because of being a self identified contrarian..
You made your bed.. Now lay in it.
I said I'm sometimes a contrarian.
Just a reminder of a certain poster's proclivities to argument.
Even about admitting what he admitted.
Imagine if Elon Musk and his DOGE group manages to whittle down the size of the federal government.
"Hi, Linda McMahon, I have nominated you for Secretary of Education, and by the way, we're eliminating the Department of Education."

And in the text space, there was a lot of angst about Hillary getting more votes, about Trump potentially trying to do illegal things, about Trump potentially being in bed with Russia, and about Trump being dishonest about his true intentions. We didn't know if key Republicans would split from him and maybe split the GOP.
Today we know what we know.
We know he tried to get Zelensky to prosecute Biden.
We know he freely shared secret info with Sergei Lavrov, on camera.
We know his first two efforts to prevent terrorists from entering were ruled to be racist and overreaching, though he did eventually strike the right balance.
We know he told people to go to the Capitol, watched them get violent, and didn't tell them to leave for three hours.
We know that 90% of Republicans will cheer him on.
And in our election we decided that was all OK. There's nothing to be anxious about. If Trump's second term is like the first, it will be what the people wanted. Let the people have what they want.
And for God's sake if you don't like what the TV is saying, just turn it off next time.
Don't go around with your own anxiety that it's giving people a mental illness that somebody just made up. Don't go around diagnosing people you don't know who don't watch TV with TV-induced mental illness just because they disagree with you.
We do and you have it........bad!
No, the country never admitted anything was "ok". The voters, especially swing voters, decided it was better to go with Trump, despite his flaws, than to follow the walking zombie and cackling idiot over a cliff. The policies of the Left over the last four years are what drove so many to Trump.
Probably not the results CBS was looking for..

That is largely true. Failure to control the border, paying off student loans, inflation... there are whole lot of reasons people deserted Biden for Trump. A lot of it was the way Biden ran for President as a moderate, and governed as a leftist. Plus all the DEI and woke stuff that dominated the Democratic Party.
But I do agree with Mike that there isn't any such thing as TDS. People detest Trump for very good reasons. They are not deranged.

Republican primary voters chose Trump by a 3 to 1 margin. You can't blame Biden for that.
The Republicans who decided not to participate in the primary (more than half stayed home during the primaries) tacitly supported everything I listed also. If they didn't agree with Trump they would have voted for a different Republican candidate.

Scroll up. Right before that I said, "Contrarian just means "inclined to go against popular opinion.""
By that definition, a lot of people are contrarians. If you hear about some new thing, and the first thing you learn about it is it's popular, is your first instinct to trust it or to distrust it? Most young people trust that, and most people over 30 distrust.
Anyhow a more specific, and useful definition of Contrarian is "someone who argues for the sake of arguing, making points they don't really believe just to stir things up or upset the other person." That's not me. Everything I've said, that wasn't a joke, I believe.

Detest is a rather strong word, suggesting a high level of emotion. What "very good reasons" has Trump given people to provoke such emotional reactions?
People with TDS can't listen to ANY criticism of Biden and/or Harris, without launching an attack on Trump. Mikesez has been doing it for years and he's a classic example.

I don't want to be drawn into another discussion about why I detest Donald Trump. But I will say that one of the biggest reasons is the incredible volume of lies that spew out of his mouth. I don't like someone who will go on TV and tell lie after lie after lie. Starting with the Obama birth certificate lie and continuing with the election being stolen lie and ten thousand verifiable lies in between. A lot of politicians will insult my intelligence, and all politicians will lie, but I am flabbergasted at the volume of lies that come from Trump's mouth.

Bro. I criticize both of them myself. Look at the "harris explains inflation" thread. I had nothing nice to say about Biden or Harris.
