? #BREAKING: Starlink service is now FREE until the END OF THE YEAR for victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, rather than the original 30 days
This is BIG news for the COUNTLESS victims we’ve reconnected with Starlinks these past two weeks.
In Western North Carolina, there is still no timeframe for internet and cellular to be restored, so this extension beyond the original 30 days of free service promised by @SpaceX will greatly reduce the anxiety of victims.
Thank you @elonmusk

She recorded some podcast with some liberal idiot and supposedly talked about how great the chips act that has done nothing is so great. Then orange man is bad and will get rid of it, even though Trump wants to bring back manufacturers which includes chips.
This wasn't in the podcast and was shot to make fun of catholics and communion.

I am not easily offended and though I was raised in the Catholic faith I haven't practiced or participated in the religion for over 30 years. I find this kind of display offensive and shameful. However, that is typical leftist nonsense.
With the hurricanes and the recent thwarted election day terrorist planned attack I am curious; as I observe the various news briefings is there anyone posting here that has an ounce of confidence in anyone in the Biden cabinet to lead?
Harris, Blinken, Yellen, Mayorkas, Garland, Buttigieg? These are all mid-level managers at best and have been thrust into positions WAY beyond their capabilities. How did we get here?

"We are now known, all throughout the world, as OCCUPIED AMERICA...But to everyone here in Colorado and all across our nation, I make you this vow: November 5th, 2024 will be LIBERATION DAY in America. I will rescue Aurora and every town that has been invaded and conquered—and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail or kick them the hell OUT OF OUR COUNTRY.
In honor of Jocelyn Nungaray, Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and all of the others that are dead and mortally wounded at the hands of migrants who should never have been allowed into our Country, I am announcing today that upon taking office, we will have an OPERATION AURORA at the Federal Level. To expedite removals of this savage gang, I will invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle every migrant criminal network operating on American Soil.
No person who has inflicted the violence and terror that Kamala Harris has inflicted on this community can EVER be allowed to become President of the United States!"

This is awesome. My friend still has no power, internet or cell service. From recent videos I've seen from her area it could take awhile to get any of those back. She ordered a Starlink and now has a generator so I imagine she'll use the gennie once or twice a day to get online to catch up on stuff. Like most in her area she's losing income due to the circumstances there so anything helps.

How can Amazon Prime ban political ads on Thursday Night Football?
The other streaming services don't have to run political ads but they do anyways because they love that sweet sweet cash.
I don't know about streamers but I've heard the local TV stations make that political season revenue last 4 years. It's such a big boon for them.

I see it as a waste of money for the Harris campaign. Mainly masculine men watch football on streaming services. Your swifties and housewives aren't watching football on prime. The target audience watching TNF don't have Harris/Walz stickers on Subaru's.

I don't understand how CBS can come up with a headline like that. I would think most rich people purchase their vehicles outright to avoid unnecessary fees and interest payments. You don't stay rich with needless spending.

You have to think about mega corporation fleets. You know who they are. I mean it would help them alongside of millions of peons who borrow as well.

That stuff gives me pause. Notice how bright and quick the 102 year old man is? We are not like that. We are in trouble. We have to put these things we're using down. But we cant. O well.

This is from the article:
If the plan mirrored the mortgage interest deduction, car owners would need to itemize their borrowing costs — making it a tax benefit that would mainly help high-income Americans, tax experts said. That's due to Trump's Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, which greatly expanded the standard deduction starting in 2018, which in turn limited write-offs for millions of low- and middle-income Americans.
Currently, only about 1 in 10 taxpayers itemize, the majority of whom are high-income earners. For instance, more than 60% of people earning over $500,000 itemize, versus 4% of those earning between $30,000 to $50,000, according to the Tax Policy Center.

For deductions, you need more than the standard deduction to make itemizing worth it. Tax credits would be different.
Most people already don't pay any taxes. They already get tax credits that are more than they pay in throughout the year.
So the impact is higher for high income earners. High income earners don't always pay cash, it depends on rates and market returns. A lot of the time, you could make more on the money in the market.
Tax credits or deductions would have $0 impact on poor people, unless they make it a refundable credit. I doubt that would happen but who knows. It would open it up to tons of fraud. You are going to have car lots taking the credit from the person, applying it to the loan, and then reducing the monthly cost. They could then increase the loan, increasing the interest, file and get the credit, give the person 50% as a monthly deduction, etc.
I would prefer it as a credit to tax liability but that doesn't get the sound bits or affect most people.
