Well, they are an ultra conservative quasi-religious sect posing as a professional medical organization and known for being proponents of "conversion therapy" and misinterpreting scholarly work for their own ends, so...I'd expect the American Left to respond that way. As does much of the medical profession.

Well, they are an ultra conservative quasi-religious sect posing as a professional medical organization and known for being proponents of "conversion therapy" and misinterpreting scholarly work for their own ends, so...I'd expect the American Left to respond that way. As does much of the medical profession.

I'm open to condemning organizations, on both sides, which toe the radical line - and have done so on this board. What did she say that I should disagree with?

What protocols supported by those listed organizations stop and why? Is Transgenderism a real condition? If so, then how should it be treated? If not, then what is it (and how should those who exhibit it be treated)? And can gay people be "fixed"?  (and if so, should they be "fixed" and why?)

Basically, does the ACP's religious and political dogma have a place in the healthcare profession?

Religious and political dogma do not. But does a medical view belong which says mentally unformed children should not be physically altered because of what they feel?

Conversion therapy has low (but not zero) efficacy and in some cases makes problems worse. Parents should not be allowed to subject children to it.

Gender affirming surgery has unknown efficacy and unknown rates of harm, and is irreversible or very very hard to reverse. Parents also should not be allowed to subject children to it.

On the other hand, therapies that alter hormones to delay puberty have few unwanted side effects and normal puberty will start after treatment stops.

Very few of the "academies of medicine" are threading this needle. They are all more interested in virtue signalling to their religious constituency. And secular liberalism is a religion too.

It delays puberty.  That has the side effects of delaying some brain development and bone growth.  You get most but maybe not all of that puberty related growth back after ending treatment.  So maybe you end up a little less smart and a little less tall, but hey, you're alive.  And there are still people out there shorter and dumber than you.

Jill Biden has been noticeably absent from the campaign.

The joy was never there. Jill never wanted to give up power. 

I wouldn't be shocked if biden endorsed Trump before its all said and done.
