What they say and what I do will always be two different things.

They can rot in hell..

I don't play hypotheticals. I base my judgment on fact.

So why do you think Pelosi's mistake matters in any way?

Goes back to the whole "Leaving the gate open for the enemy" belief. If you were in a position to change the outcome of something, the power was in your hands to fortify a situation, and, you chose not to, what does that say about you?

Other than the obvious. Which was, you had an agenda, you adopted the "Never let a good crisis go to waste" sentiment there. It's a [BLEEP] thing to do really, however, if I am being fair?

Politically? I would have done the same. If I knew that would lead to a firestorm of allegations, public finger pointing, a primary talking point to establish myself four years in advance to prepare for the next election?

Yeah, absolutely, I would do the same thing. There's no such thing as playing fair in politics. Never has been really. People should have learned this lesson when they read the demise of Ceasar and how the senate stabbed him to death.

I would have went after Clinton, Obama and Pelosi years ago. On actual charges that could be backed by facts or came up with trumped up charges, etc. You have to fight fire with fire sometimes.

Trump talked a big game back in 2016. If he does that again in 2024 I want that game backed up with teeth this time. Because his critics and political rivals absolutely held nothing back and went full tilt in doing everything they could to keep him from being on this year's ballot.

There's still five months left for them to pull more rabbit tricks out of their hat. The hypocrisy is rich though. Clinton with her body count, the bathroom web access, the deletion of emails, Pelosi with her insider trading information more than likely, something Martha Stewart got buried for, and then Obama, drone striking people on American soil without any charges provided to them, etc.

There's a lot of foolery like that with our Government. As much as people like to give into the fear mongering of Russia and China? When Russia and China tell you that the west is corrupt and full of [BLEEP]? And that they deploy a number of tactics to [BLEEP] over their rivals? They're not lying.

We get a front row seat to it here in the United States. We just all roll over like a good little [BLEEP] and take it. That's why I keep pushing for us ALL to get along, for us ALL to figure this out, instead of getting into this two party nonsense that has landed us in the mess we're in now.

We're losing our country and we have nobody but ourselves to blame for this.

That's all interesting but which part exonerates Trump?

Let's suppose that we're walking down a busy street and we both notice a completely naked, beautiful woman walking towards us.  I decide to approach her and grope her all over.  She screams "stop! I don't know this man!" A cop sees it.  He says I'm under arrest.  I say, "officer, this is entrapment! She came out here naked to make me do that!"

What would the cop say? Would I still be in trouble?

Not exonerating anybody. Also, in your situation? Both people should be under arrest. Indecent Exposure for the woman. Sexual Harassment of the woman by the man. Although, if you had a craft lawyer, you could just say she was asking for it and was giving you the "look".

Imagine being the cop in that situation, having to arrest a naked woman, how does the cop get away from the same implications? What if he body slams her, or starts screaming "I Am gay! I am gay! I am gay" as he's arresting her. Would that save him from any public fallout when he's shamed for doing his job?

I'm glad we agree about this.
Regardless of what Pelosi did or why she did it, Trump was the one who sent the bad guys to the Capitol on Jan 6. Bringing up Pelosi is just a red herring, an attempt to dodge the fact that Trump incited violence and tried to create a constitutional crisis.  Most people would call that an insurrection, but you guys like to pretend words mean other things these days.

Anyhow, the cop gets an exception, just like he won't get pulled over for speeding while he's chasing a speeder. That's why you have to be really careful who you let be cops.

He has been charged in his mind. The proof is in his writing.

Most of the people who have been tried on Jan 6 charges said in court that they understood Trump's tweets to be inviting and inciting what they did.

Don't you think the burden of proof to support a charge of insurrection should be a little higher than what a handful of people thought his tweets meant?

It's true.  I don't know if it's most, but it's a lot.

It's a fact that Trump told the crowd that Mike Pence could stop the certification.  It's also a fact that it was not true.  He misled those people into thinking they could actually do something about the election.  Then he told them to march to the Capitol.

For Jan. 6 rioters who believed Trump, storming the Capitol made sense (nbcnews.com)

"Yet multiple defendants have told judges during the sentencing process that they now understand that claims that the election was stolen were baseless, and their defense attorneys have pointed to the moral culpability of politicians who fed their clients those lies."

Sure.  In a court of law, certainly.  In a random internet forum, no, I am not a prosecutor and you are not a juror.

By the way Trump has been indicted for his conduct on and around January 6.  Four charges. Conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, conspiracy against the right to have one's vote counted.

So far his only defense has been that his behavior was all "official acts as President" and therefore he is immune from prosecution.  His lawyers have not mounted any other defense.  We are waiting on a Supreme Court decision.
