Germany is part of Europe. We certainly didn't save Germany in either world war. We helped 2/3 of Germany recover after the second world war, but we did the opposite of saving them during that war. History is strange. Individual battle stories should make you feel inspired/brave/proud but looking at the overall arc, if the main thing you feel is pride, you probably didn't understand what you read.

Your claim that America saved Europe's butts twice fails on many levels, not just that one.
First of all, America didn't save anyone in WWI.
As for WWII, Britain saved itself. There was never danger of any successful German invasion of the UK even without Lend-Lease.
Although the food and equipment for the invading forces were mostly American, Britain supplied about the same amount of manpower in North Africa, Italy, and Normandy as we did.
And of course Eastern Europe wasn't saved at all. Neither were Spain and Portugal. And Switzerland stayed out of it. So, far from saving all of Europe twice, we saved maybe a third of Europe once, and we had help.
