You'll see this in the US times 100 if/when the number of EV's in use outstrips our abiity to service them on the electric grid. LED lighting over the last decade prompted most utilities to retire or downsize their most inefficient generating plants to meet the shrinking demand, and now the pendulum is getting ready to swing in the other direction. Takes a lot more time to bring power generation plants on line than it does to produce EV's. At least for now.
Energy is energy. The Swiss are looking at a cold winter with less Russian gas, or no Russian gas. It's a slow moving emergency and strange and questionable choices will be made.

No idea if they will actually ban electric cars over winter, just that someone proposed it. This might go hand in hand with diesel and gas rations as well. Even if there are no rations, check out the price of gas and diesel in Switzerland. And their government might increase it.

From 2035, newly registered cars and light goods vehicles will no longer be allowed to emit greenhouse gases. The decision was approved on June 29 by the 27-member group. The ban on internal combustion engines voted by the European Parliament – which the EU member States still have to approve – effectively marks the end of petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles, as well as hybrids, which are currently experiencing a boom. In future, only new electric or hydrogen-powered models will be able to be sold.

People pushing these agendas need to push infrastructure first. If there isn't infrastructure nothing else is going to matter. It goes to show how this isn't just about "saving the planet" though there are folks who are genuine in their commitment to slow down the usage of fossil fuels.

There is a lot of money to be made by car manufacturers and companies that make charging stations if these states and countries force EVs on folks. That's what is driving this insanity and the progressives help by pushing the narrative. The problem is no one is talking about infrastructure except the major energy corporations who are the so-called enemy....

So much the same as we saw in California earlier this year, the government pushed everyone to switch over to electric vehicles to save the planet. But now they’re warning them that they won’t be able to recharge their vehicles except for “urgent travel requirements.” The crazy part of all of this is that the major energy corporations have been warning everyone about this for several years. The power grid doesn’t produce endless electricity by magic. You have to produce enough energy to power it or it fails. But nobody wanted to listen.

Europe has awesome public transportation. In Germany we could set our watch by the bus and train arrivals. It was a thing of beauty. Then we came back to the U.S. and were back in the Dark Ages. But I digress. Between the EV situation and fuel prices they could force people into using mass transit. This is happening in NYC but in a different way.

I watched a television show recently where a couple bought an old carriage house in Brooklyn and were renovating it. They were saying the city doesn't allow for the cut outs in sidewalks to allow  for driveways anymore. It forces people to park on the street and there is extremely limited parking. Basically the government is forcing people to use mass transit by not allowing folks to have driveways. This couple was lucky because their carriage house by design has driveway access.

I think it's FUBAR that the government can force people into situations that they have no say in. It's not Constitutional.

As an aside, I remember fuel ration cards when living in Germany. We almost always filled up on post but if we went out of town for the weekend that wasn't an option. Still had to use the ration card on post. I think there may have been ration cards for alcohol and cigarettes, too. Man I haven't thought about that in years.

The replies are nuts. Progressives do not care about anything other than Musk taking away their platform to spread their hate and discontent. There could be kiddie porn on Hunter Bidet's laptop and they wouldn't care because Musk is their equivalent to Trump. A 'bad man' who exposed their hypocrisy.

It amazes me that we can find the political will to mandate hybrids and EVs but we can't find the political will to let the power companies raise the money they will need to get their baseline up.  No one wants to be blamed for higher rates.

There supposedly is and potentially even involving family. The emails and texts are terrible. I won't ever go looking for the pictures but there are said to be copies of the hard drive out there. Unfortunately you can't verify if the supposed descriptions of the images are real or not as it would be illegal to view or share it.

There's also more than 1 laptop and supposedly more was hacked or discovered from his icloud account and backups.

I really wish we had some agency we could trust to actually review the laptop and report on it. Then bring charges for all the crimes.

Damn right!!
This is the answer to the "Riddle of Steel" from Conan the Barbarian....... I think this applies to every political party because they know they can always fool the people with their BS and they'll each have "The Sheep" they can mold to their ideology to get, and maintain Power........

“He who is mighty, owes his might to an ideology. Only ideologies can convey to a man the power to influence other people's choices and conduct. One can become a leader only if one is supported by an ideology which makes other people tractable and accommodating. Might is thus not a physical and tangible thing, but a moral and spiritual phenomenon.”

What's the difference between a conspiracy theory and truth? About 12 months.
