Uh, oh. It looks like Harvard's DEI appointment is facing more charges of plagiarism.

This perfectly encapsulates the left's attempt at "equity", which is nothing more than the abolishment of standards and meritocracy to achieve quotas. Rather than enable more minorities to achieve higher standards, they simply lower the standards or look the other way. This, in turn, undermines everyone. Harvard's Veritas shield is now in question.

Edit:

I love the logic off this CNN reporter that the charges were leveled by big meanie Republicans, so the plagiarism really isn't that bad.

It's funny how often conservative publications like Fox News and Breitbart write reports about articles in other sources like The New York Times or CNN.  I guess it's an inexpensive way to write an article- write an article about an article.
Or maybe, just maybe, it's an attempt to shed light on the hypocrisy and double standard of leftist media. Look, I'm no fan of right-wing media, but that article has merit. You can't have "journalism" that does not have a principled approach to the truth. That's all we seemingly have in this country, and there aren't enough people outraged by it.

What do you think about the subject of the article?

Methinks Marty is equivocating. Like the CNN reporter, he's shooting the messenger rather than addressing the message. He has to justify, somehow, paying a subscription fee to The Biased Gray Lady.

I didn't watch the video, but from reading the article about it, CNN did a bit of unnecessary equivocating when they pointed out, accurately, that the charges of plagiarism originated from right-wing sources, which is irrelevant.  She either plagiarized or she didn't.  The plagiarism was either on a serious level or it wasn't.  Who pointed it out originally is completely irrelevant.

The reason The New York Times is able to charge for a subscription, unlike media such as Fox News or Breitbart, is that they have high quality original content that people are willing to pay for.  In my case, $4 a month.  Big deal.  I also pay the Wall Street Journal $4 a month.

What did CNN say that was not true?

No doubt. Their artsy fartsy content is nonpareil. Too bad their news reporting is so slanted.
Why are we flying and bussing illegal immigrants to other states instead of back to their countries? If we're going to waste tax dollars on this mess can we not waste them on sending them back to their own country? I get the idea of why FL and TX send them to Chicago and NYC (to prove a point) but all this does is burden taxpayers even more while completely screwing over Americans and legals who actually need the resources going towards people who could just be sent home.

This is an honest question.

I think busing them to liberal states and cities puts pressure on the government to fix the border.  Just sending them home would be an endless expense unless and until we get control of the border.

It also reveals the intrinsic hypocrisy and overt political posturing of declaring oneself a "sanctuary". What's really tragic is pressure has to be applied to bastions of leftism to illustrate the hardships their declarations bereft of any strategy, or logic, has caused to the country at large. Just ask the family of Kate Steinle.

I get what both of you are saying but I think the point has been made regarding the sanctuary city issue, at least for Chicago and NYC, as they're scrambling to figure out how to cope. As for the endless expense, it will continue to be one if we keep shipping these folks from one state to another so send them home instead and get them off our streets because that's where they're landing in these sanctuary cities.

As for the government actually doing anything about the border? Let's not hold our breath. It's as much a political tool weapon as abortion is for both sides of the aisle. Border states will do what they can as evident by TX and FL shipping folks to other sanctuary cities, but on the whole I don't see this being fixed.

Don't know who Kate Steinle is so will have to look her up.

The immigrants (who are probably illegal immigrants, but haven't been adjucated yet) are willingly getting on these buses to NYC and Chicago.  No legal process is required except a signed waiver.

They don't want to go back where they came from. You would have to make them get on a bus back to where they came from, and it takes a lot more legal due process to make anyone do anything, whether they are a citizen or an immigrant.

Legally the states cannot deport them. Those rights were given to the federal government. They have to turn them over for the feds to actually deport them and they have not been deporting for a while or the states haven't been notifying the feds under Trump.

Texas law is changing that but I haven't read the law enough to understand how they think they will be able to deport them. It's being going to be fought in court, so will see what happens. There also has to be a state law that they are breaking and entering the country illegally isn't a law on the books for states.

It's going to be a very interesting case for state's rights.

Some people of Chicago are now starting to call for Trump to come in and clean up The Democrats corruption..

https://twitter.com/CollinRugg/status/17...sCWng&s=19

81 year old local legend George Blakemore is calling for all illegal migrants to be sent "back across the Rio Grande."

"I am anti-illegal immigrant. Send them all back across the Rio Grande."

"To see another group come over here, it's disgraceful, it's un-American. What about the black children? The black workers? They compete with us!"

"I am strictly advocating for black people. Call ICE on them. Trump, come in here and clean this mess up. The most corrupt city in the United States is the city of Chicago."
