Maybe I am blinded by hate.
But anybody who thought Trump was the best choice in the 2024 Republican primary was blinded by love.
Or just understood that he has the better policies..
But we all know NPR wouldn't tell you that..

I watched the primary debates and I watched Trump's rallies at the time. I didn't need NPR to tell me what I saw. The other candidates all promised to continue most of Trump's policies. DeSantis and Ramaswamy promised to continue *all* of Trump's policies. Meanwhile Trump was saying that his second term wouldn't be about policy, but rather about revenge.
If you look at those plain facts right from the mouths of the candidates and conclude that Trump is the best choice, you are blinded by either love for one or hate for many. Period.

You know, you should have had a career writing children's books because you can sure tell some fairy tales.
Regarding the part in bold, can you provide any links showing that he said that?
I too watched the debates and many of his speeches. His priority on day 1 is to "drill baby drill" and secure the border. Both of those issues I strongly agree with. He also talked about bringing the wars in Ukraine and Israel to an end, again something that I strongly support.

All of the candidates, including Christie and Haley, were for more drilling and shutting down the border.
Anyhow,
Here's your fairy tale! Hope you like it!

Will someone please explain this to me? What the hell is he talking about?

[Trump] said: ‘Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians.’
Trump added: ‘I love you Christians. I’m a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don’t have to vote again, we’ll have it fixed so good you’re not going to have to vote.’

I heard him say "I'm not a Christian". Also, in all honesty? Not sure what he's saying. Nor implying. It does sound concerning on a surface level though. If we're taking it literal? I would interpret it as:
1. Finally pandering to one of the larger groups of the Republican party.
2. They'll have it fixed to the point to where you won't ever think to vote for the Democratic party again, however, wouldn't we still need votes? Even for Republicans?
So, not sure. Sounds like he's maybe leaking the script a little too early! LOL. Maybe this will be the last decade after all. Maybe the rapture is coming. Maybe One World Government is coming.
All the world's a stage I guess.

You have hit one of my pet peeves. The definition of insanity is NOT "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." I am so sick of people saying that.

In the debate we saw Biden having trouble connecting his ideas and speaking in a very tired, hushed voice.
It seems Trump still has the roar in his voice but perhaps he's not able to remember which words to use as well as he used to.
As my wife (who works with the elderly) says almost every day when she leaves her job, "This is why 80 year olds shouldn't be President."
He's talking about securing elections and deporting illegal aliens duh
He's talking about having such success that everyone will want to vote Republican.
Trump is one of the least articulate people I've ever seen, but if you think he forgot he needs to be elected and he's telling you his tyrannical end game, you're dumb.

I'm sure you have always been against old people being president and I'm even more sure this wasn't a recent awakening you had.
Old people don't shoot 50 in a scramble.
Trump IS old. Ideally, we'd have a younger candidate who wasn't bought and paid for with novel ideas, but we don't. That said, we all know age didn't matter to Mikey before. Or to any democrat, really.

I didn't start posting in the politics threads until 2018. You know nothing.
I thought Hillary was too old in 2016.
