Cigarettes Are Expensive In Australia
The Australian government wanted to control the consumption of cigarettes in the country and the increased taxes meant the average packet started to cost $35 by 2019.
It is expected that the price of a pack of cigarette will reach $40 in 2020 and it will cost an average smoker about $10,000 a year.

When I was there in 2015, a pack cost around $15 if I remember correctly. I don't smoke but a coworker did. Their cigarette packs are also black in color with pictures of dead people on them, as in actual morgue photos, who died from smoking related diseases. They do everything possible to discourage it and there is a clear demarcation between younger and older folks who smoke. 

What's funny is they won't outright ban it. Most likely because they make too much tax revenue from the smokers.

If Fetterman runs for re-election, I predict it will be as an independent or Republican if...IF the Democrats don't move away from the fringes in the next few years. Hopefully the Dems have a sanity check soon and start representing the center again.
