"Who knew in America that the phone providers would now be policing the content of your text messages to fine you.
S.H.A.F.T. is an acronym that stands for Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. It outlines the categories of text messages specifically regulated due to moral and legal issues and is monitored and enforced by the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) and the mobile carriers.
Who gets to determine what is and isn’t “hateful”?
Will political text messages be censored now as well going into 2024?
This is what @comcast did to me in 2019/2020 when I ran for Congress. I warned people that it would happen to others when nobody did anything to stop this when it happened to me as a congressional candidate!
Nice TOS date change! Just in time for the GOP primary and 2024 presidential election!
Nothing to see here!"

I get why they're doing it. This is how and where human trafficking happens. It's where people are scammed out of life savings. It's how and where a lot of bad [BLEEP] happens so I get it. The problem is limiting them to what is considered to be true threats. We already see on social media how this can be abused. One way is they were/are blocking people for their POV on everything from politics to breast feeding in public to the LGBT+ folks who don't see it their way, yet actual terrorists and child predators and the like get to do whatever they want.

I get it, but I don't like where it can lead if left unchecked. When it does go sideways I'll never have a cellphone again.

Their intentions are correct, but like any potentially intrusive program, it has to be monitored closely.
Kari Lake news.

https://azdailysun.com/news/state-and-re...483e8.html

PHOENIX — Kari Lake is now going to have to prove the charges she leveled against Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer are true if she wants to avoid being found guilty of defaming him.

In an extensive ruling Wednesday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Jay Adleman said it is clear that the claims made by the failed Republican candidate for governor that Richer had sabotaged the election were not, as her lawyers claim, “mere rhetorical hyperbole.’’

“In point of fact, defendant Lake’s statements regarding improper 19-inch ballots and/or the existence of 300,000 fraudulent ballots may be discerned by a factfinder as either true or false when considered in the light of any available evidence,’’ the judge wrote. “These statement constitute assertions of fact that are actionable under prevailing Arizona law.’’
Joe Rogan claimed Biden made a comment that should disqualify him for the Presidency.  Turns out, it was Trump who made the comment.  So it's okay.

Lake is learning the same lesson Rudy Guiliani and Sidney Powell learned. Criticisms are one thing. Leveling unproven charges of malfeasance are another.

Is there a point or are you stomping your foot in indignation that Joe Rogan didn't properly disparage Trump while the MSM and popular culture ignore Biden's verbal, intellectual and political gaffes almost every day?

You can take from it whatever you want.  Merry Christmas!  No more politics from me today.

How about these providers spend a little more time blocking robocalls from every shyster that wants to buy every property that i ever had a hand in buying/owning, past present and future?

(in bad AI voice) 'Thank you for bringing this to our attention New. Jags. City. However, let's discuss your vehicle's extended warranty.'
Stolen elections?!? These guys are amatuers. They need to take some pages from the American Democratic Party playbook.

If this is true about the law not being allowed to track down the caller, then it needs to be changed. This is stupid, wasteful and dangerous.

Another GOP Congressman ‘Swatted’ on Christmas Day: ‘They Left With Homemade Cookies and Spiced Nuts!’

...Swatting — the act of making a false police report with the intention that the victim receives a visit from armed law enforcement — has been used against many public figures, including former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and podcast host Tim Pool, and has even resulted in death.
Greene was visited by law enforcement on Monday morning after an anonymous caller told 911 that a man had been shot at the congresswoman’s address.

Local police were reportedly called by the suspect, who took responsibility for the incident and said “they were upset about Ms. Greene’s stance on ‘trans-gender youth’s rights.'”

“I have been swatted 8 times but the FBI can’t seem to figure out who is responsible for the swatting and says the law doesn’t allow them to track them down,” protested Greene on X following the incident. “The FBI can do so many things, has even abused FISA to spy on hundreds of thousands of Americans, but can not figure out who wants me killed by a hail of bullets fired by a SWAT team responding to murder suicide calls supposedly coming from me.”

Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec also announced on Monday that his parents had been “swatted.”

“They told the officers that I had shot my wife and sons in the kitchen,” he wrote...
This is getting ridiculous. I came across an article with a headline about someone realizing they're abrosexual. Since I have no clue what that means and didn't want to read the article I looked the word up. Evidently gender fluid isn't good enough so they had to invent a specific word. And they have their own flag.

WHAT DOES ABROSEXUAL MEAN?

Someone who is abrosexual has a fluid sexual orientation. They experience different sexual orientations over time.

I don't get people who have to/want to be defined by every single thing but especially by their sexuality. If your sexuality is The Thing that defines who you are, your life is going to be very disappointing. And if your sexuality is fluid it's going to be even more so.

Of course, I also don't understand women whose entire lives are defined by their children and when the children are gone to live their own lives the women suffer an identity crisis. My mom was not that woman. When us kids left home life went on and she has lived it well. Maybe I'm just built different but I don't let any one person or any one thing define who I am, other than my faith. I am a product of my entire life of experiences and people, not any one thing (again, other than my faith).

I guess I'd say I'm adaptable to whatever environment I find myself in, though there are lines I won't cross. But if someone asked me to define/describe who I am, my sexuality wouldn't come up. Neither would my race/ethnicity, politics, or anything like that, yet there are people who can't live without checking every box they feel makes them relevant, but especially these categories. That's just sad.

But I'm also that person who doesn't see a glass half empty or half full. I say there is no glass. Why limit your mindset?
Yeah, I refuse to play their big game of pretend and help facilitate and moor their cargo ship of mental illness.

Pretty much why I've come around on the abortion issue. Why should I stand between someone ending the blood line of mental illness?

Give them enough rope and they hang themselves. We used to happily die to protect our country from foreign invaders, now a lot of us feel like we'll have to die protecting our families from this government and country.

The fault lies with indoctrination in our schools and piss poor parenting.

In my opinion, six years in prison was too much.

She was justified as much as she could be in that situation. I wouldn't stop until he was dead too.
