As it turns out, if you want to gain and maintain power, others who have power have to like you. Unless you have so much power that you can instill fear in anyone else who might have power, you have to be liked.

Could they have been more transparent about it? Probably.
Did their lack of candor break any laws? Probably not.
Did their actions violate the 1st amendment? No. Impossible.

I don't know man, this looks like a straight up execution to me. The cop didn't give this guy much of a chance to deescalate at all.

It's sad that my first thought was, "I'm glad the guy he shot was white." That officer needs to be sentenced. That's ridiculous.

I mean, I don't know how dangerous this dude was but unless he's an Olympics level expert hatchet thrower there's no reason the cop shoots him at that point. Not at that distance. If they're physically in each other's personal space, like within arms length, I can possibly see the threat at which you maybe just taze the guy. 

Hard to say without being put in that situation.

Don't know what occurred during the run up to that, but agreed, what is shown looks like an execution.

First paragraph is how I see it.  [BLEEP], at that distance, you can almost dodge it if he threw it.  But what was he about to do with it to a helpless person in the bush (out of view of the camera?).  Idk if there was an innocent person out of view or not.  Playing devil’s advocate.  That footage doesn’t look good, though.
