It was blocked. It's also not a bankruptcy sale, the judge illegally said he couldn't declare bankruptcy. The judge is the one selling off the assets.
The leftist mediator, who should be looking to get the most money for the families (if that was the reason), changed the rules 2 days ago and said they would pick the winner based on whatever criteria they wanted. There was a group that offered more money but they are on the right and could have just hired him back. The whole purchase of this is so the leftists can punish him.
The Onion didn't even offer cash for the sale from what I've seen. They got the families to agree to offer the payments as collateral. So they get no money but it's the "better" deal.

I was a subscriber to SA for years and finally cancelled because editorial opinion became increasingly prevalent. That was over 10 years ago.
